Haven't read the thread all the way through, but I had experience of a similar sort. My youngest lad (he's made it past his past his 19th Birthday now and still wails a fair bit) never slept for more than about 20 minutes at a time and screamed for about an hour inbetween these little sleep episodes.

The best advice we could get from a doctor was to put him as far away from our bedroom as we could so we could get some sleep. Fuckin doctors sometimes.

It turned out that he was allergic to cows milk, and seeing as we were feeding him SMA which is derived from it every time the poor little fucker screamed we were forcing more of the stuff that was hurting him down his neck.

On advice of one of his grandparents we switched him to soya milk. His shit stank and was a funny green colour but it cured him.
