This is slightly complicated situation for a novice like me to have an opinion about, but if you are good enough to come 2nd in their shortlist, which were listed out of 150 candidates; you are surely good enough to avoid any contract situation and demand a better prospect.
Or maybe i misunderstand this one year contract thingy.
