The reason I ask is that naturally we get the selection of the best youngsters. The ones we'll miss out on are those who want to play down south, and probably the odd few at Liverpool. Anyone else just won't have been spotted yet I'd imagine. Assuming we do regularly have the best players, what makes this crop so different?

That's what I was thinking as well. That crop of players were considered very promising. Our average age isn't that high now so it would be tough for a reserve player to break through if he's a goalkeeper, center back, winger or a striker.
