He played one game against WBA in August (and didn't play particularly well) then didn't play again until Otelul Galati in October when he got an incredibly stupid red card. After that he played a grand total of 5 league games (was banned in Europe) before knackering his knee against Basle.

That's 6 Premier League appearances out of the 14 games we played before he got injured and a completely counter-productive contribution to our European campaign. How the hell could he have been our best player?
