Man Utd Under-12 in Portugal Youth International Tournament
Manchester United Portugal Supporters Club can now confirm that Manchester United under-12 team will fly to Portugal next April to defend their title won at I Malveira Youth International Tournament last year. Coaches Tony Whelan and Eamon Mulvey will bring their boys to compete once more on the best Portugal youth tournament set to be playing next 29, 30 April and 1 May. Last year the under-12 boys leading by Mark Dempsey and Tony Whelan won their first foreign tournament after beating home team Atlético Malveira by 7-0, FC Porto by 5-1 and Sporting Lisbon by 2-0 finish top of the group and receive trophies for best tournament player and best tournament goalscorer. Coach Tony Whelan promises us last year that they will come to defend the title and he keeps their promise…
Six teams will compete in this II Malveira Youth International Tournament. The home team Atlético Malveira, the top three Portuguese teams FC Porto, SL Benfica and Sporting Lisbon, the Spanish giant Athletic Madrid and our Manchester United. All matches will be played in Estádio das Seixas in the small and quiet village of Malveira, about 20km near Lisbon. Tony Whelan team will play the first match on 29 April at 17:30h against the home team Atlético Malveira.
Our Manchester United Portugal Supporters Club will cover all the event will several members our group being part of this year organization. Our Portuguese website
www.manutdportugal.com will be daily updated with news, photos, videos, interviews and full reports from Malveira like we did last year. We will fallow every steps of the team and talk with the boys and staff. For those Red Devils supporters who want to fly to Lisbon and fallow the tournament, our group can provide free transport during the three days event. Just contact us by the usual email
