Carrick and Scholes play very well together, playing the ball off each other until a gap opens. Carrick's through-the-middle balls to the edge of the area are always a surprise cos on the TV you can't see that far to the left (which is thro the middle) most of the time so you don't know who's running into position until Carrick puts that ball thro and the camera has to pan to follow it!
Both of them have a great footballing sense and can tell the movement of several other players at once which is a great asset in their positions. I would say it's our best pairing against most other teams. Hargreaves Fletch and Anderson son son in the third slot gives us tremendous choice.
If we don't win the CL this year with this crew we'll never win it.
