You were in a position to sign him to the contract because you acquired his registration from Lyn. If they didn't own the player they had no right to sell him to you and your contract is worth big fat fucking zero.

That's wrong. He signed a contract with us. Whether he was previously owned by Lyn or not
is irrelevant. He signed a contract with us. Sure, Lyn gave us permission to do so, but in actuality we could have done so without their permission since it turns out that he wasn't owned by Lyn.
Consider it this way:
Lyn own the contract -- we get in touch with them, they transfer his registration to us and Mikel signs a contract to join us.
Lyn do not own the contact (as is the case) -- Mikel owns his own registration, and signs a contract to join us. By doing so he is transferring his registration to us.
In both cases we receive his registration regardless of who held it before (Lyn or Mikel).
This proves that rather than being owned by Lyn, he was a free agent. That doesn't change that he signed a contract with us. It wasn't his contract with us that was counterfeit -- that was perfectly legal. The fraudulent contract was the one that said he was owned by Lyn, and thus they have no right to receive any transfer funds.
Anyway, I'll say no more on this. It's a simple concept, and that you refuse to grasp it shows how desperate you are to get "one up" on United. I'm right, and Chelsea will not get that money back from United.
