Consider it this way:
Lyn own the contract -- we get in touch with them, they transfer his registration to us and Mikel signs a contract to join us.
Lyn do not own the contact (as is the case) -- Mikel owns his own registration, and signs a contract to join us. By doing so he is transferring his registration to us.

In both cases we receive his registration regardless of who held it before (Lyn or Mikel).

This proves that rather than being owned by Lyn, he was a free agent. That doesn't change that he signed a contract with us. It wasn't his contract with us that was counterfeit -- that was perfectly legal. The fraudulent contract was the one that said he was owned by Lyn, and thus they have no right to receive any transfer funds.

Anyway, I'll say no more on this. It's a simple concept, and that you refuse to grasp it shows how desperate you are to get "one up" on United. I'm right, and Chelsea will not get that money back from United.
OK genius, explain to me this. If Lyn, as you correctly pointed out, didn't own the player, then what did you pay the transfer fee for?

MU acquired the rights to the player through fraud, whether they knew about it or not at the time, is irrelevant, it's still illegal in the eyes of the law.

Here's another interesting fact: where was Mikel's representation?
The player's agent wasn't informed, was deliberately kept away and wasn't present at the signing so that Andersen could manipulate an 18 year old kid using forged documents. His own family only found out about what had happened after United deal was announced. MU representatives probably didn't know all the details but they jump at the chance to buy the much coveted youngster from under their rivals noses. In the end,it didn't exactly work out like they expected but that happens from time to time when you deal with shady characters, like Andersen or Shittu.

If you still think that United are in the clear and shouldn't return the compensation you're just too biased to see the obvious.
