He's been brilliant for the Academy for the last season or so. A class above.
He was promoted to the reserves at around Christmas and has struggled a bit getting used to the step up in class (especially the phsyical side of the game, he's a fairly gangly 17-year old after all). It hasn't helped him that our reserve wingers are fairly shite (hence, presumably, Brady getting promoted so quickly) which means that Welbeck has had shocking service.
Hi hat-trick was against City (
) and was hopefully a sign that he is settling in to the reserve league. Be great to see him kick on from there now, hopefully starting tonight.
