I'm just curious where did this 'protection for his family' stuff come from? Was that part of what the investigation uncovered? Link ?
The agent living on a different continent is not a problem, since most of them travel constantly anyway to deal with their various clients.
The club/Andersen wanted to sell him with as little hassle as possible because they didn't own him and forged his contract.
