If you read his statement properly, he says Lyn have nothing to fear from Chelsea precisely because of the settlement between all parties involved.
Seeing as how United were clearly part of that same settlement, suffice to United have little to fear from Lyn and Chelsea, and vice versa.
There you go, it's not too difficult to understand.
We're not angels, neither are we crooks. There was probably some opportunism involved. Since we were acting above board legally, why not give it a shot. And look, we got ourselves an extra 12 mil to strengthen the squad! Lovely!
Chelsea only ended up looking dodgy because of Shittu and Mikel's behaviour. Nothing to do with us really.
