You can get an elite with 120gb hard drive for £240 and you can get a core console with a normal 20gb hard drive for £180. And XBOX live is expensive aye, but it is better than PS3's version.
The PS3 is a better console, but if you are willing to spend £300 on that I don't see how you can claim the 360 is a rip off as the 360 is cheaper and still has its own advantages over the ps3.

I spent £425 on mine, which I steel feel is a good price for everything you got with it. (Well I actually didn't spend anything, I just traded in my broken 360 wuth about 13 games).
The 360 could have been a brilliant console had it not been rushed to gain an advantage over its rivals Sony and Nintendo. Has it happens it was, and as a results it has cost Microsoft billions, not that it matters to them as they are worth so much it is unbelievable and they can afford to have catastrophes like these and get away with it, just like with the original XBOX. Still, I take your point, I would just rather fork over an extra £150 for the PS3, particualry when you consider the catalogue of games it has coming out over the next 12 months.
