Young John Rooney has made the step up from the Youth team to the First team bench over the past few weeks and according to Keith Alexander, he could be a big star for the Silkmen next season.

According to some reports, John is expected to snub England for his international allegiance and opt to play for the Republic of Ireland.

On Saturday his big brother Wayne came to watch him at the Moss Rose along with his cousin Tommy who once played for Macc a couple of seasons ago.
I wonder if Rooney was around in Big Jacks time, Pogue, would he have chosen to play for us?
