I don't post in the United forum very often for exactly that reason, I do sympathise with the fact that some fans like it to be a sacred place for United supporters to share their opinions on United. Thats fair enough and genrally I respect that.
I often browse the United forum and sometimes post a reply to something I have a significant enough knowledge on to be able to post I don't try to wind posters up in there, sometimes I may be slightly sarcastic but it is solely meant in a light hearted way rather than trying to wind people up.
When a conversation goes along the lines of this though

They are so overrated, and Manchester United are clearly playing themselves into their hands. It dissaudes me from posting in there and as you know there is even Man Utd fans who don't post in there due to posts like the above.
What can you do about it?
Not much really, everyone is entitled to their opinion at the end of the day even if it is widely viewed as stupid. Perhaps create a post match moaning thread or something have it stickied at the top, anything significant enough though to merit is own thread should be welcome to it but threads like the one I mentioned above should belong there. Thats then an extra load on the moderators though and will create a lot of work for them taking their enjoyment of the cafe away. It's a lose lose situation really but most of the time you'll find if you change things they'll just change for the worse.
