Yeah that was a bit odd, I don't have a habit of watching SAF interviews but I watched a link of him on Ashton earlier.
Weired that he mentions Ashton was a Man Utd fan in his boyhood but not that he started supporting Liverpool a few years later. He was very complimentary of him and seemed to have already planned out what he was going to say.
I think we would sell, every player has their price but Ashtons is about 15 million, I don't think you'll pay that. Then again he only has 2 years remaining on his contract so maybe SAF will wait. His comments would have no doubt alerted Ashton and I can't see him signing a new contract now.
He's not even on 20k pw at the moment and he's one of the best players at the club. If I was Curbs I would be offering him 60k pw now on a new 5 year contract. It's not happened though which seems to point to amove.
Either way he's a great player and one I don't care if he leaves for a bigger club as it is what he deserves. He'll always have my respect and he is by far the best choice to partner Rooney for England!
Since seeing the article in the Star I haven't stopped thinking about something along the lines off Saha + 4 or 5 million for Ashton
