Dumb statement. You are talking about a player who had 6 months left on his contract. At 29 years old. Who wnet for 8 million. Berbatov has 2 years left and is 27. He would obviously cost more. It's that same principle that made an okay talent like Bent cost more than Henry.

First off Spurs isn't a small club. That's blatantly clear. Furthermore Berbatov doesn't have to have one anything to be worth 25 million. FFS we bought raw Rooney for 30 million quid and he was fresh out high school? There is nothing more dumb than to think we would buy a finished article at the peak of his powers for half that price
