92/93 - year upon year, we'd suffered false dawns with the odd cup wins and end of season collapses. This wasn't the case and OT rocked against Blackburn. After getting home from the game, to see Sir Matt on tv, smiling away seeing HIS club as champions again just made it so sweet (I need to convert the full match onto the pc at some point.), this is the best of the lot for me.
93/94 - After the wonderful summer of being able to proclaim to the world we are the champions, this season took us to another level. Winning a league once is a fine achievement, but to retain it meant something else.. Fergie was building a dynasty. The double cemented the feeling that this team was here to stay. This is why it's number 2 for me.
95/96 - We'd blown the chance of a double double and a hat-trick of leagues the year before. Eric was back and the kids were running the show. It wasn't a vintage year, but then like 92/93 it was important for the kids to win it and give them even more confidence. This one is probably number 6 for me.
96/97 - Another league retained, but this time we knew we could retain it, we knew how it felt to do so. For the players it was great a forth title in 5 years. For me, this was one of the lesser wins, the previous 3 meant so more. How much different could we celebrate winning a league again? This would be my number 8
98/99 - A losing season before, and so this made winning the league this year that bit better. Going into the final day to win it, going into the final day at OT to win it, when none of the previous titles had been won in a way was special. The tension that was within the ground was broken with Cole's goal, and gradually the reality sunk in, part one of the treble was complete. I will put this as my number 5, due in part to the conclusion of the treble.
99/00 - How could they follow the previous season? The league was won by a gap wider than the Atlantic and no one really pushed us. Others always point out the holiday to Brazil that year and no FA cup, but we still out played the league. It was slightly scary that we won it so easily, I know it's become like the SPL, but to win by such margins made me think we'd never be challenged again for years. My number 9 on the list
00/01 - A hat-trick of leagues and well after the previous season another almost free march to the title concerned me about the standard of the league we were in. It's always great winning, but by now winning the league wasn't special any more, I'd been spoilt and so this is my number 10.
02/03 - A fight back of unmeasurable proportions to win this title, Ruud's goals and the wonderful team spirit that took the team back from the brink and back to the title. After losing the title the previous season, it was fun to watch again and the one thing that cheered me at the end, was Blanc winning the league with us. After all the crap the previous season, he'd won the league and shut up his critics. This is number 4 for me, just ahead of the treble.
06/07 - A beautiful campaign, we fought tooth a nail and then powered to the title. With Chelsea's money and of course Arsenal still around, it proved to be a wonderful win, a special win. 3 years without the title and lots of odd signings, with a couple of gems thrown in for good measure, some were questioning SAF position and abilities, only for him and the team to prove them wrong. Number 3 on the list of special wins, here was a win to celebrate and feel good about.
07/08 - The team had won the previous season, and like the 93/94 team took on an air of champions, it was as if they believed they were champions and took the challenge all in there stride. A few slips here and there, and I'd like to put this higher, it might just get higher after next week, but for now this year is number 7
