If thats the case, I wonder why Martin O'Neil hasn't suggested a straight-forward swap ?. Perhaps he's shrewd enough to know that Barry's form over the past couple of seasons has been vastly superior to our Spanish lad.
The word 'average' has been bandied about a lot on this board when describing Gareth Barry. Yet, here we have 2 experienced managers, one desperate to keep hold of him, & the other desperate to sign him. Doesn't that kinda suggest he might be a bit of alright ?.
