I'm rather surprised you are saying this. Because Cole himself wasn't that great with assists. But Ruud just like he, was still excellent at link up and hold up play. No question. Ruud even showed this at the recently ended Euro's and at REAL last season.

he season we signed him even, he was on fire and in 2002/03 when we had the perfect side surronding him he was phenomenal. Much more than an Inzaghish striker like you are making him out to be. His work rate was excellent. Even in in the first half of the season we sold him, he and Rooney were sublime as a partnership and Ruud was working hard for the side. It's just being the main man in the side got to his head and this below

happened with us and with the Dutch national team. Which he paid dearly for with his United carreer. But he has long since reformed.
