His finishing was inconsistent last season, so was his touch, his dribbling, the accuracy of his passing etc. etc. etc. These were all linked and were indicative of a player who was struggling for form.

I think Rooney's overall contribution to the team was very good. I dare say he played some of his best stuff this season - he's defiantly matured as a player and some of this link up play with Tevez and Ronaldo was been sublime.
For me, his only problem was his finishing. I tend to disagree that his poor finishing tallied with poor form - that’s what made it so frustrating. On several occasions, Rooney would do everything but score.
