Hull boss Phil Brown is not hopeful of re-signing Man Utd striker Fraizer Campbell after failing to hear back from the Red Devils.
Brown has asked Old Trafford counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson if he can take the exciting youngster again but the silence has been deafening so far this summer.
The Tigers chief has not given up hope completely and admits it will depend on whether or not United manage to bolster their forward line, with Louis Saha tipped to move on and Spurs ace Dimitar Berbatov the top target.
Brown told the Daily Express: "Sir Alex has his business to do and until he conducts that I'm presuming Fraizer will be a United player this season. We'll have to wait and see."
Campbell scored 15 goals last season as Hull won promotion to the Premier League for the first time.

Whether or not we get a another striker I think we should send him back on loan to Hull for the season. I dont think we should sell he obviously has alot of talent but he really needs first team football to develop he won't get that here even if we dont buy anyone. As for Hull I think this would benefit them too if they only stay up for a year they won't have spent a big fee for them a committed to a long term contract they find difficult to live up to if they were to go back down.
