If Liverpool are in the ascendency I'd suggest that it is a somewhat false ascendency based on United's recent poor run. I don't see Liverpool as head and shoulders above Leeds, Arsenal or even Villa. You've had some bad results this season too, everyone has - it's quite a change from recent seasons and just because we are having a bad run and making others like yourselves look good, despite your thorough analysis I'd suggest your post be reviewed in 3 or 4 months time and then we'll know whether your hypothesis has substance or not.
