- Benzema has alot more potential than Berbatov. At 27 Berbatov is more or less the finished article whereas Benzema at 20 already shows an outstanding skill factor, and despite not performing at the Euros still has so much time to be moulded into a great player by Fergie.
- Benzema is about scoring goals. He can be selfish, which could be a bad thing in terms of not spotting a player in a better position, but might also add balance to our strikeforce who don't seem to be clinical.
- Berbatovs' physical ability will be declining, he will gradually start to lose his pace, but makes up for this in other areas, such as having such a sharp brain and good awareness. On other hand Benzema will only get faster and stronger meaning he should be able to adapt well to the premiership.
- Is Berbatov going to be happy sitting on the bench? I think Benzema would react better to being left out of the starting 11.
- Benzema is a better investment, he will have a much greater resale value in say 3 years than Berbatov would, however their hypothetical spells at OT went.
- Benzema is more versatile due to his dribbling ability, Berbatov would only be able to play centrally.
On the downside I wonder whether he would complement Rooney in the same way as Berbatov would, I reckon a Berbatov-Rooney partnership might be the best thing since sliced bread.
Also Berbatov can communicate in English whereas Benzema cannot, although there are a few French speakers at the club.
