Just wanted to add some further comments on last nights reserve match.

I thought Tom Heaton in goal was bloody excellent. Especially when you consider he's just 17 and was making his debut for the reserves.

He was very quick off his line on more than one occasion and stopped certain goals in the process.

The two carrot topped centre backs were also impressive. McShane(?) I think is 17 and was also making his debut for the reserves. He is strong beyond his years and did a great job marking Stern John out of the game.

I really think we have a decent bunch of young players coming through again. I think perhaps 5 or 6 of them have the ability to become first team players.

Jones was great again as mentioned by another poster. Eagles showed good movement and ability on the ball and also hit a ferocious free-kick just wide unluckily.

Nardiello took his penalty and his other goal extremely well.

I've always hoped we can produce a real quality striker through the ranks. I'm not sure if he will be it, but he knows where the goal is, and deserves at least the Carling cup game to show what he can do.

Eddie Johnson was back, and was his usual hard working self. Really like this kid for his sheer determination, though perhaps it wasn't his best match last night.
