MY VIEW ON OUR GEMS (1/5)
While I´m at it, I decided to take a look at our future gems myself. My knowledge is quite scarce and could well be false at some occasions. I´ve seen only a handful of ´em lads in action either on tv or on field (mainly Spector during U17´s World Championships in Finland last summer). In addition to that I´ve kept an eye on what has been said about the boys all around internet. I decided to include Flecher and co just for comparisonal reasons. Feel free to correct me and/or make a list of the same kind yourselves. The namelist and data is based on CM 03/04… It´s not much, but here goes for nothing.
Introduction
We´ve got a few respected coaches, a´la Choccy (U19´s), Sbragia (reserves) and Maulensteen (academy), to bring the best out of the lads. I think the decision to appoint some foreing wizards [Filho (U17´s), etc.] to work at Carrington was a masterstroke. That, together with the now-so-popular trend of signing youngsters from all around the globe should bear some fruit in a few years time. Then there is this recently widened possibility to co-operate with our feeder clubs. And yet it should be realised that our reserve team is week-in week-out very young and inexperienced. So it is obviously a good test for every young player to play in the reserves against first team strenghtened massives and scousers.
Future is bright, future is red! Though we should not forget that ”you can´t win anything with kids”!
Explanations:
Bolded and underlined = already a first team player
Bolded = almost there
Underlined = one to watch
Italic = doesn´t have what it takes, apparently
Normal = N/A

After finalizing my post I realised that I´m the one who has too much sparetime on my hands. TBH I should´ve been writing a sociological essey and preparing myself to an uni exam. There is an obvious takeover bid about to happen, as United is trying to take over my life…
