England likes to overpower people in midfield battle, whereas Carrick and Scholes loves out-thinking and out-passing them.
Carrick may not be the best midfielder in the world, but he wouldn't look out of place in the Barcelona midfield.

The fact that I think Carrick would be good in Italy is not necessarily a compliment. The slower pace would suit him. He is not my type of player.
Scholes is my type of player. Please do't talk about him and Carrick as if they are/were the same type of player.
