Yes but Rio has his leg outside the line. Not a pen. Free kick probably.

I'm watching on a stream TBF, doesn't matter anyway, referee was on the spot and didn't give it, get on with it.

Nani and Young have been disappointing.

That was a usual United Euro away performance.

I thought we have been poor enough. Carrick and Cleverly have played well, as has Jones and DDG. Both our wingers have been very poor.

Nani probably our worst, Young not far behind. Jones looks like he hasn't played in a while. Hernandez isn't doing anything helpful.

The whole team looks a bit subdued.

Unforced errors would sum that up.

Wasting possession, misplacing easy passes and miscontrolling the ball under no pressure whatsoever.

frustrating half we haven't really tested their keeper.

It's a good game in that sense that we've got so many players playing their first game after injuries. That's very nice. However we haven't posed any dangers in that sense that we haven't had any chances, Ajax hasn't had a problem dealing with crosses or our wingers. Goalkeeper has had nothing to worry about.
Ajax has been more dangerous.

Free kick if you're calling it a foul. Could have been and I wouldn't complain if it were given but I think it's 50/50.

Were looking like Arsenal going forward lots of possession for no reason.

Nani is terrible, Hernandes offside, Rooney looking heavy, Young ineffective, Carrick and Cleverley meh.

Fabio is looking good, and Jones has had a couple of lovely crosses

There is two kind of predictability, the Ashley Young type where it can be pretty easy to defend against and the Valencia one where he just destroys you again and again

Who is this Fuckwit Commentater! "Manchester United were supposed to take Ajax to the cleaners!"....
Ajax, who would have qualified for the knockout round of the CL but for a 'questionable' result for Lyon in Zagreb and didn't concede a goal in their group apart from against Real.

Seen out first half comfortably, now expect us to wrap this up in the second half to give us a easy game back at OT

It's all about form. An off-form Valencia does nothing against a defender who knows that he's gonna pass inside or run to the line and cross it.

We need to give the players who haven't featured much recently more minutes and trust in them to do the job for another 25 minutes, that's what we need to do.

From the sounds of it, kind of what I expected in terms of performance with 6 players having not played much recently. Maybe that was some of our problems in the group stages, put players out who on paper look good enough to win but, not enough game time to just string together a United like performance.

Hopefully 2nd half will be better, if not then I'll take an undeserved goal and win into the second leg.

I've rarely seen Chicharito receive a good ball behind any defenses this season, he either makes the run too quickly and therefore ends up being in offside or the pass he receives is too powerful or his misses his control.Very frustrating at times

He got 45. He's looked very poor and also looked like he had a bit of an injury scare as it is. Time to come off. He can come on as a sub in the next league match and let him get right in training as well.

To be fair both he and Nani should come off but I'd leave one of them on to work through the problems. While this is not the CL I'd still like them to win this.

They can still play poorly and we can still get a result, the likelihood will be that we will need them to step it up though.
