Some good memories in the blue kit away to Arsenal.

The game that more or less sealed us the title in 2003.

Nah, you're thinking of the legendary 2-4 victory at Highbury in 2005, when O'Shea lobbed the keeper for our fourth goal. That was black kit, not blue.

The game I'm talking about was the 2-2 in 2003 (Link). Van Nistelrooy and Giggs scored. The point didn't guarantee us the title, but it was a huge blow to Arsenal who really needed to win.

True.

Some great memories in it too, particularly from last season.

1-1 with the Champions going through. Will be tough especially if Arsenal go one up in the beginning of the match.

Same starting line-up as on the first leg, don't let Arsenal settle into their passing patterns, hopefully score a goal early and see the game out.

1-1 would be great.

We don't wear white kit in Champions League away matches this season.

Moreover, even in the first game at Emirates in November United played in blue kit.

Did Fergie leave out Keane in 99? Did he leave out Scholes last season against Barca at OT?

Rooney has to start, he's bang in form. We have a better chance of getting to the final with Rooney in the starting XI. I'd much rather get to the final with a chance of Rooney getting a yellow than missing out than not getting there at all because we didn't play Rooney.

Not sure who I'd go with up front.

Keane is talking (as usual):
Quote:
As a player I loved the games against Arsenal but nowadays they are far too pally-pally. We need to go back to the old days because those are the games I really miss playing in. They were really feisty and brilliant affairs and were the real games for me.

We just didn't like Arsenal. I don't miss playing against Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester City but I definitely miss taking on Arsenal. I missed the first game, but I'll be watching on Tuesday because I love watching the top teams. United definitely have the edge and I reckon they'll play Chelsea in the final.

Blame Arsenal though. They went to shit, making the rivalry meaningless.

Yeah, I agree with him. (And you.) Good to see his prediction favouring us as well.

On topic: this could go either way. We could dominate the game again like we did at Old Trafford, or we could get slaughered like we did at The Emirates earlier in the season. Should be a real cracker, either way!
We didn't get slaughtered. We arguably deserved a draw.

This is true. It was a very open game in November, great attacking play from both teams. The scoreline could have easily ended up 6-5 to either side but we definitely deserved something from the match.

I'm starting to brick it thinking about Tuesday night. 90 mins away from the European Cup final once again

I reckon if we get a goal some time in the first half (not to early so we sit back but not that late) then the tie would be over, as good as Asnl might be at home i think the next goal decides the tie.

Had a dream last night that the score was 5-4 to United at half-time. I woke up before the 2nd half had begun. Weird

I put my money on SAF being defensive for the first part of the game. If United are either put in great pressure and/or concede a goal, Rooney and Giggs to come on. However, I'd like to see Evans and Rafael to play when the goal difference is 2+ on our side.
