As I said in the other thread, Edwin might sit out this game. Said on Dutch television that he "hopes to play on Saturday".

a draw will be a massive result for us.

i think fergie will flood the midfield again. but probably rooney will play up front this time.

why wouldnt he play? If Vidic is out we need our best Keeper in goal. I think Brown will go back to RB and Pique will come in at CB.

Dutch reporter suggested those 2 miskicks in the first half, where he gave the ball to Barca, were a result of his injury, but they didn't ask that question in the Van Der Sar interview.

I think he will be ok, he just wants to be careful not to make the injury worse than it is.

His jumping seemed ok so...

Can't see Vidic being back if he has been as sick as Fergie described. I guess we'll play the same back four if so?

That'd be a shame if it means we lose Hargreaves from midfield but you've got to say that this back four played well at Barca.

Anderson must come back into the play so we can rest Scholes. I think we will see Giggs start.

I can't see Rooney playing as he struggled a bit with injury in Barca.

VDS

Hargreaves Brown Rio Silvestre
Fletcher Anderson Carrick Giggs
Tevez Ronaldo

subs: Nani Pique Scholes O'Shea PIG

Brown
Evra
Rio
Vidic (I think he'll play, he only had a stomach bug did he not?)
Hargreaves
Carrick
Anderson
Ronaldo
Nani
Rooney (as a striker)

Don't think we'll lose this one. Small margin win or a score draw.

We should aim to win this. We have drawn our last 2 games and need to get back in the winning mood in preparation for Barcelona, because nothing but victory will do.

I'm worried Fergie might start Ronaldo on the bench. Do you think he will?

Chelsea play 3 central midfielders, and so will we on saturday. Carrick, Anderson and Hargreaves I think will start, and Scholes on the bench.
In attack hopefully Ronaldo-Rooney-Nani, and bring on Tevez after 60 min or so.

--O Shea-------Rio--------Brown-------------Evra---

--Nani------Carrick---Hargreaves----------Giggs-----

------------------------Anderson----------------------

----------------Rooney/Ron-----------------------------

Subs:Kuzczak, Tevez, Scholes, Park
Rationale: Anderson, Nani, Giggs, O Shea to come on in and freshen the side up.
Prediction:0-1 scrappy win for us. Probably form a setpiece header from Rio

If you have gone a couple of days without proper meals then it is going to take more than a few days to build you back up to the level required in a title deciding game. I can't see him playing. Brown did very well at Barca though. It's RB that would be the worry.

It would be nice if we break their home record rather than L'Pool next week.

Hagreaves did great at Barca as well as Brown. I'd be more worried if Ferguson chose to play Pique in the middle.

Nothing to base this on, just a hunch.

However i am wondering if we'll see Ronaldo play centrally with Nani and Tevez supporting.

Whatever the state of Vidic's health coem the weekend, i reckon that Hargreaves will be put back in mdifield with Anderson, and perhaps controversially for some, Giiggs.

Meanwhile Fergie will hold Rooney will be held back, him all the while straining at metaphorical chains with not being able to play, we'll lset him loose on a somewhat unsuspecting Barcelona.

actually his kicking seemed a bit weak to me. Many times he barely got the ball past mid field

Lets just go for it:

------------------VDS---------------
Hargreaves---Ferdinand---Vidic---Evra

Ronaldo---Anderson----Carrick---Nani

---------- Rooney-----Tevez--------

Rest Scholes for Tuesday. Rooney and Tevez upfront together not one in behind both upfront. Chelsea have limited attacking options Vidic and Ferdinand can handle Drogba. We can afford to lose and still have the title in our own hands.

Hoping for this line up

------------------VDS---------------
Hargreaves---Ferdinand---Brown---Evra

Ronaldo---Anderson----Carrick---Nani

---------- Rooney-----Tevez--------

Don't think Vidic will make it. Rest Scholes and Giggs for Tuesday. On Tuesday I want to see Ronaldo, Carrick, Hargreaves, Scholes and Giggs in midfield, with Carrick in the holding position.

Play Pique if Vida can't make it, hargreaves is wasted at right-back.
