Quite worried about this one. Chelsea are in great nick at the moment, but we are capable of anything on our day. I hope the right team is put out and we put on a performance.

You've not seen much of us I take it? Despite some good scorelines recently we are not playing that well.

Saying that, we'll still wipe the floor with you northern jessies.

I honestly don't know who'll be starting or on the bench regarding midfield and wings. Some people want Obertan on the bench after his great cameo tonight, what about Nani or Valencia? Also, Giggs should be fit according to SAF but will he be on the left or in centre midfield? Will he start with three in midfield? Lord only knows, too early to be bending my brain with this at the moment.

Team should be....

GK: VDS

RB: O'Shea
CB: Vidic
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

CM: Fletcher
CM: Carrick
CM: Anderson
CM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: Foster, Neville, Fabio, Scholes, Nani, Valencia, Owen

Fucks know what formation the above is but I think we need to play all of the above players (maybe not so much Giggs but I think he'll play regardless)

Have no idea what will happen but as long as we dont lose I'll be content

According to Sky..

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson expects to have several key players back for Sunday's showdown with Chelsea.

Ferguson was without a clutch of senior figures for the 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night which booked United's place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

The Premier League champions travel to current leaders Chelsea at the weekend, live on Sky Sports 1 & HD1, and Ferguson is confident of a fitness boost.

Dimitar Berbatov, Ryan Giggs and Nemanja Vidic are all tipped to return to the fray after sitting out the thrilling draw with CSKA.

Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra
should also start after coming on as substitutes against the Russian side, although Rio Ferdinand remains doubtful.

United can overhaul Chelsea at the top of the table with victory at Stamford Bridge and Ferguson is happy with the form of his side heading into the contest.

"I think we're ready for Sunday," Ferguson told Sky Sports. "Our form going into the game is good.

"We have some players to come back.

"Patrice had 30 minutes (against CSKA) and Wayne had 30 minutes. Berbatov should be fit for Sunday, Giggs should be fit and Vidic will probably be fit.

"We have players coming back, we are fresh and looking good."

I know it's a bit of a cliché but but our fate will be determined in midfield, we must get that right at all costs.

The same one against Spurs? But with Carrick taking Scholes' place. Fletcher coming in from the right when we're not on the ball to help out the midfield.

I know after tonight some are nigh on desperate to see Vidic return but he based on the most recent evidence is hardly a cure all, and if not properly fit could be its own risk.

Hope we can keep it tight and perhaps launch one or two players from midfield to score. We can't afford another Liverpool display.

fking huge match - most important game of the season so far

To make this race stay tight you have simply got to beat them. If they beat you and do it comfortably they will steam roll the league imo

Someone needs to put a spanner in their works and Utd beating them will put enough doubt into them to give the rest of us s fighting chance

Trouble is I cannot see you getting past their midfield power / bullish strength and at the moment cant see any defence holding Drogba and Anelka especially if Joe Cole gets right back into his creative groove

I think you'll do well to get a point myself and although Id rather you beat them I fancy a two clear goals Chelsea win

Err, I'd say a draw and staying within 2pts of them makes it tight enough.

It's the first time since Barca (A) in 07/08 that I'd be happy with a draw in any game (well, Arsenal (H) last season as well, but for different reasons)

Question is can the defence keep Drogba shackled and on yesterdays performance i'd say no.Best case scenario a draw.

Given our recent form history at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's impressive form whenever I have watched them this season, our shaky defence, blunt attack and ineffective midfield, I would say we are in for a hiding on Sunday.

But seeing as this is football, anything can happen

Yep, realistically, there is a high chance of us being bummed 2 or 3-0 on Sunday. If we get a draw I'll be over the moon

fair point about the midfield. We were clearly lacking there against Liverpool. I assume that fletch and anderson will be important to the cause on sunday but who knows with SAF. He may put Giggs in that midfield holding role behind Berbs and Rooney I just cant predict. What I do know is if we get a decent effort from our back 4 we have a chance if not your prediction could be right.

For me

1-1

I'd take a point right now.

The positives that make me think we can get something are that we were the better team against them in the Community Shield, and they haven't defended well (either) this season. The main problems with Vidic (who should be back) and Rio (who has a chance) is pace, and Chelsea don't have a lot of it. Neither Drogba nor Anelka are slow, but they aren't in Torres/Eto'o's league so I doubt they'll cause us problems on that front. We should hopefully exploit their defence as it has leaked a few goals this season.

I've not been a fan (at all) of our 451 since Ronaldo left, but I think it's the right formation here. We played 442 last season and dominated large parts of the game without Ronaldo and Chelsea will be playing the 442 diamond, but I think we need the extra protection this time. A 5-man midfield with a central trio of Fletcher-Carrick-Anderson should have enough tempo, power and creativity to give Chelsea a run for their money.

A win, which isn't out of the question, puts us in a great position. A draw will feel like a missed opportunity for Chelsea, but a United loss gives them a comfortable gap.

God forbid that you should say such a thing on the here - you aren't allowed a view if it's negative or you get slated!!
If we play anything like we did against the dippers or 1st half against Blackburn then we will get a spanking. A good side will find us easy to play against given our current form.

Why do you think Carrick and Anderson were left out last night? they were rested for sunday...Fletcher will start on sunday thats also a given...thats a 3 man midfield right there...if you seriously think Fergie will go 4-4-2 at stamford bridge less than 2 weeks after said formation was ripped open at anfield your bonkers...Berbatov will probably be dropped with Rooney playing the lone front man...you can put money on it.
