Why did Fergie bring on Obertan and Owen with like 2 mins left?

And Atkinson played it safe with the time, guess he remembered the City match.

the ref tried to keep the game going but when it mattered he let the drunkard son of a whore score.

still we had our chances and should have put them away.

We played better than in a few matches...thats what gives me confidence we will still take the title.

Unbelievable refereeing. Should have won that.

Oh well, you don't have to win at Stamford Bridge to win the league and I saw enough today to convince me that we've got the players to win the title.

Just need to keep at it.

Still cant score away from home to a top side...our finishing is so bad...didnt deserve to lose that but why is our finishing and final ball so dreadful in such games...everything was either overhit or underhit or wide or over etc...

the goal was practically a gift handed by the refs.

* was never a fk in the first place
* drogba was offside and fouled brown in the process.

Playing Giggs in the big games has been a bad idea so far this season. I would have brought Obertan at 60 minutes in.

Personally, I thought Drogba's fake epileptic fit was the highlight of the match. When are the FA going to get real with these people?

Obertan should've been on earlier for Giggs. He definitely didn't look out of place and put in a couple of good crosses and corners and skinned Ivanovic a couple of times.

How many years is that in a row now the ref has won the game for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge?

Giggs needs to realize that his flicks do not work in these types of matches. He had a few opportunities to shoot but looked for a flick that just didn't come off.

From the Guardian minute by minute:

Secondly – and I should make it clear that I don't support United, or any Premier League team for that matter – a truly unjust result. Nothing much was made of the early offside decision that denied Rooney an easy chance, but that and the penalty were two game-changing decisions that the referee got wrong. He got most other decisions wrong too. I'm not sure about the free-kick that led to the goal – I was typing when it happened – but Martin Atkinson got everything else wrong, so I guess that's the way I'm leaning. United played really well, did 70% of the attacking, had the game's outstanding players in Fletcher, Carrick and Valencia and simply shouldn't have been beaten.

But there you go. Swings and roundabouts and all that, eh?
And he didn't even see the worst call of all.

Its just so frustrating...even though we were clearly the better side and were creating more openings in the final third i just new wed never score i never felt at any time wed would and thats the sad part for me.....everytime we got into a good position we either chose the wrong option or blasted it off target...in these sort of games when you get few clear openings your finishing has to be better....

If only we'd exploited their right side more.

FSC Live fuckers are pissing me off. Chelse were dominating the match? Fuck off they were. No mention that the FK was bullshit, no mention of the Drogba foul on Brown.

You are not going the get anything different from them. Listening to them seemed like they were watching a totally different match.

Why is it every stamford bridge game the following happens.

We have a blatant on-side run called off-side
We have a blatant penalty not given
Chelsea have every decision, including the dodgy one that has a further dodgy incident that leads to their goal.

Fletcher is immense and should be captain btw.

the ref was shit ok, but he should have sent off Evans, this reminds me of 1982 semi final between west germany and france the german keeper made a horrendous tackle on french player and got away with it

as for the game, we had many corners that yeilded nothing, had a free kick from good position that was not excuted properly, the current squad dose not have the likes of Ole & tevez to come in and turn things...

all in all im very proud of the way we played and somehow it dosent sound like defeat.

Worst display by a ref I've seen for a long time.

Got all the big decisions wrong.

Terry pulling Valencia down by the shirt in their penalty area.

Fletcher's tackle was perfectly legitimate.

Drogba not only fouls Wes Brown, but he is then yards offside.

He was directly in Edwin's line of sight, trying to flick the ball in, so he must have been intefering with play.

Shocking performance by the ref, but I thought we were superb!

Would like to have seen the subs given a much longer time to make a difference.
