It should be a great game. We must show them the real Manchester United. Dont take anything for granted and play with a winning mentality. It will be attack vs attack and we must prove to them that we have more power. Lets get it on!!

hope we play better than we did in the 1st half today.

nani, ronaldo, hargreaves/anderson/carrick (pick 2 from 3 ) to start.
rest scholes and giggs.

brown/neville, rio, vidic, evra and VDS
tevez and rooney up front.

I'd wouldnt mind a 0-0 or score draw, but a win would be fabulous.

As long as both Giggs and Scholes don't start together we should be able to put in a decent perforamnce

Win, lose or draw, i am just hoping for a great match. We never seem to have the passion and luck in the champions league. I am just looking forward to a presure free 2 matches (for me anyway)

Agreed. We need his range of passing in this one.

Especially on a field as big as Nou Camp's.

Big field + Carrick + Terrific counter-attacking players = smart

My apologies Girish. The threads looks good and you do have a big win under your belt. I was just becoming overly superstitious considering today's outcomes and am worried about the upcoming tests ahead of us.

That generally brings the obsessive, complete psycopathic nutter out and I spew crazy jibberish when that happens. My bad gir and Addict.

Wasn't that a 4-4-2 that we were running today? It hardly seemed effective early, so I think I'll trust whatever judgement SAF makes as far as the formation.

Its the players that are slow to start and underperforming in certain areas, not the formations I'm worried about in the upcoming tests. I feel certain though that the gaffer will keep us on track.

The one thing I hope we're not talking about after this game (and the second leg) is how Cristiano played for himself rather than the team as he's been known to do in the past e.g. last season against Milan where all the focus was on him v Kaka, as the focus this year is surely going to be him v Messi.

Hopefully Ronnie continues to do what he does best and doesn't let the occasion get too big for him.

Regardless of that though I think the real key to the two games in our favour could very well be Wayne Rooney, I think he'll have a field day against their defence

If we dont win this one im gonna be gutted. I think its the best chance we have had since the Leverkeusen Semi. I spent £300 to get in to that to some friggin tout because i was so confident, but Oliver Neuville decided to be a stuffy twat.

Now is the time for redemption!!!!

Fucking hell, reading that post, it just hit me, we are so close to the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!

I've got to admit, I never felt we'd win against Milan over two legs, and with the injuries and such, it never felt, to me anyway, like a proper Semi Final, as we had such a disadvantage. So the last time I can properly remember being this close, was against Leverkeusen, and even then, I was only 10!

Piss that, I ain't appoligising. These threads are taken very seriousally by the superstitious and when you got muppets making crap threads and fucking it up on purpose just to wind people up its not good practice (not you Girish).

Man U versus Barcalona (Barca are at home, ignore the orders of the pictures)
At: New Camp, Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona's home stadium.
Time: Quarter to Eight, English time. Coverage is probably at 7ish, cos its a big match like.

Oh yea, its a champions league semi final too. Go Man U!!

Hargreaves must start. Will Fletcher be ready for this? He starts training on monday according to Sir Alex I think, doubt he's ready after being out for 1 month.

i have that feeling as well.

we should play Nani, and keep Ronaldo wide (none of that striker bollocks). the pitch is very wide, and Carrick can spray passes around to devastating effect. speed has always done Barca.

VDS
Brown Rio Vidic Evra
Hargreaves Carrick Scholes
Ronaldo Rooney Park

PIG, O'Shea, Silvestre, Anderson, Nani, Giggs, Tevez.

Park to start, and work hard for 55-60 min and then bring on Giggs or Nani. Also bring on Anderson.

Even i dont want Park to start this one. I think our more direct pacey players can take advantage of their out of sorts decent. Especially with Puyol being absent.
