Knowing how Liverpool have become the ultimate "game-raising poor team" recently, they'll give us a real battle tomorrow.

I'll be happy with a draw to be honest, although we could do with nicking it 1-0 just to avoid another fixture.

Bellamy will be tired after his exploits mid-week and Gerrard, for all his good form recently, still looks like he's struggling for match fitness. They're two players that would most love to beat us though so they'll be up for it.

As said, this game isn't going to suit Scholes. Giggs fairs better as he has very quick feet still and knows how to find space. Giggs, Carrick and A.N.Other in the middle with Welbeck up front on his own. If Nani was fit then I guess we'd put Park in the middle but I imagine he'll have to play LW.

Maybe Park in the middle, Welbeck to the left and Berbs / Hernandez up front?

If we're doing a three man midfield then we don't have the bodies to play anyone but Park in there at the moment as the third man with Carrick and Giggs (unless he's going to give Pogba a first start, away at Anfield, in a knockout game).

Yep. He was great against Arsenal. Only other option is Fabio who probably won't last the 90 anyway, meaning bringing on Evra.

Assuming he's fit, he has to. I strongly felt when the draw was made that Fergie would leave him out, but we're on the bare bones as it is, so I'd be surprised if he doesn't play now.

These matchday squads are never right, especially whe we're only playing down the road. You can only trust them on European games when the matchday squads are reported by people within the club that happen to be sat on the plane with the matchday squad.

Just most papers and news pages. Reputable ones too who usually get it right.
Apparently wayne hasn't trained all week.
As far as the rest I thought it was common knowledge they were out.

I hope i'm wrong though and i'll be in here quoting myself at 12 tomorrow pointing and laughing.

From the BBC's footie gossip column

Referee Martin Atkinson will definitely miss the game, after pulling out because of illness. It is now almost 11 months since Atkinson took charge of a Manchester United game, after he was fiercely criticised by Sir Alex Ferguson after United's 2-1 defeat by Chelsea.

Oh dear, this will really fan the fire at RAWK

We'll miss Vidic at Anfield, if their game vs City is any to go by there'll be a lot of driven long balls into the box (with more hope than meaning, still have to be cleared).

I wasn't that impressed with them the other night, they play percentage football with little flair. Bellamy was the only one with any imagination in my view.

I'm expecting Dalglish to play Carroll from the start and try to beat us with pressure football, relying heavily on the crowd to force mistakes.

I've a feeling Fergie will play Scholes and Hernandez from the start.

Ferdinand, Jones, Rooney, Nani, Carrick, Evra, Fabio are all in the United squad for tomorrow.

Amos, Fryers, Cole and Diouf also in named squad. Pogba not mentioned, but still expect him to travel.

Neither was impressive IMO, but we've often folded to direct pressure, Vidic would gobble those balls all day (that sounded weird), with our injuries I'm a bit apprehensive about tomorrow. Is Rio confirmed fit?

I would go with Smalling at the back as he seems happiest under the high ball with Vida out. Carrick alongside Giggs in middle with Park as the leg man. Valencia and Wellbeck wide with Berba as a lone striker to give him a run.

DDG in goal.

As for the game, we will need to be patient. They will get in our faces from the off, need to ride through that and get possession of the ball and take the sting out of thier players and the crowd. If we can do that and not concede early I think we win. If they get up a head of steam with an early goal, might be a long day for us.

Scots Prediction:- 2-1 to United

Here is my hope for tomorrow.

I want a similar situation (like in 06/07) where they were battering us for nigh on 90 or so minutes and they don't get the chance to go ahead.

Then in the 93rd minute I want Evra to make a surging run into the penalty area (Kop End) and be chopped down by a Liverpool player.

Then Evra blasts it into the roof of the net! If only.....

Tufty was the one who came with the 'Nani out for 2 months' rumour yesterday, no?

Doesn't seem the most reliable source for this kind of news.

Smalling was cool dealing with aerial balls against Arsenal- granted it was Arsenal, but it's not as if Carroll is bang on form (famous last words).

Interesting stats about Mark Halsey

Prior to his leukemia - he was a fairly strict referee dishing out redcards left and right - after he recovered he has shown 1 red card in the league in 1.5 season.

Also worth mentioning - if my info is correct - we haven't lost with Halsey as ref since Southampton beat us 1-0 back in 2003. Was that the match when Beattie grabbed the winner ?

Gotta get up at 6.45 to watch this one.... I feel for the reds abroad on here now. Good news is that its the second to last day of my holiday so I would be spending some serious brownie points if it was to interfere with our plans.

I´m predicting a match winning performance from Rooney though. He was sheltered by Ferguson in this fixture before after his poor form and torrent of abuse he recieves in it. Being a little under the radar thanks to Evra could see him come to life a little. Buzzing for this game though!

I don't think Rooney will start.

I think there'll be a very early goal, I think for us.

I don't know who I think will win.

Bookies have none of the results as odds-on favourite, but Liverpool edge us in the odds for a win.

I think he's scored 3 goals since joining us and only 9 overall since 1998, he's not going to score...
