i hope we play something like this:
---------Vds-----------
-Brown-Rio-vidic-Evra
----O'shea-Carrick
Nani---Scholes---Giggs
-------Tevez-----------

1-2 United Nani and Tevez with Nani being MOTM.

Why is it such a ridiculous statement to think City will win?

I personally think we'll sneak a 2-1 win but City will definitely be in the match and it won't be as one sided as the last two games.

With Ronaldo and Rooney out, our lone striker unfit, a raw player in Nani and out of form players like Brown and Giggs, plus the fact that City have impressed in their opening two games, it is a completely understandable statement to say United might lose or draw.

In fact I might throw $10 on City just because of the good odds they have.

Regardless, United to win 2-1.
Utd: Tevez, Vidic
City: Petrov

If City could beat us when they had feckin' Shaun Goater in attack then they sure as hell can bloody beat us with Elano and Petrov firing down the lines.

As for predictions, I really can't see how this game is going to go. I'd like to think we will show some character and bounce back and hammer City like we normally do when we've lost a few games on the trot. But for some reason, I'm not overly confident. I'll reserve judgement till further notice!

SAF has depth in his squad.. with a good number of options IMO

This is a must win and I think

Utd 3-1 City

Tevez, Scholes, Evra or Vidic from a set piece
Richards (From a set piece)

VDS

Brown Rio Vidic Evra

Nani Fletcher Carrick Giggs

Scholes

Tevez

Thats what I'd go with considering it doesn't look like Saha, Ole, Anderson or Hargreaves are going to fit for this game.

I'd still play Giggs, but on the left wing as I still think hes the best left winger in our squad. Nani should be fine on the right as he is naturally right footed. Then I've gone with Scholes supporting Tevez. Scholes in a more advance role will hopefully get a chance and knowing Scholes he just might take it.

I'd like to see Martin on the bench too, just incase we're lacking width (we shouldn't do with the players out, but its happened before) he could come on and hopefully provide it if need be.

The Sky Sports site has predicted that city will win 2-1, I have also seen other sites predicting city will win as well, interestingly Mark Lawrenson on the BBC site has predicted we will win 2-1.

Its amazing how things change, in the space of 2 games we are probably going into the game as underdogs, even though city have only scored 1 goal at home since Christmas and we are the champions.

How the hell are they favourites to you people? I've lost hope if you think City will 'probably win this one'.

Yeah, they've got good players etc but the team is still nowhere near our's plus we have much more experience in our team.

It will be the same as the last two games, we'll completely dominate but fail to convert most of our chances.

United went into a game in 2001 season underdogs to our title rivals and came out of it 6 - 1 victors.... i can see the same thing happening here.....

two frustrating games gone, our players should be chomping at the bit to get stuck into city....

Time to bring City down to earth. Richards has been excellent for them in their two games, but he alone cannot stop our massive onslaught. Also, they are up against a defence much superior to what they have met so far, so I don't believe they will score. United to win 1-0 (Tevez).

Anderson, Saha and Hargreaves all out.

Apparently Anderson has a hamstring injury.

Yes. Unless you bring some form of self defence weapon...or just get good and fighting off mobs with your bare hands.

I believe this will be the team.

I think its 50-50 to whether O'Shea or Fletcher start though.

Gordon McQueen's team on MUTV:
VDS
Brown Ferdinand Vidic Silvestre
Fletcher/Eagles/Nani Carrick Scholes Evra
Giggs Tevez

Hedge your bets Big Man! But I know what he means..

Gordon just reminded us that Rio (when playing with The Vidanator) is the best centre half in Europe. I agree.
Hayley just reminded us that L*verpool will not win the Premiership. I agree.
Great family that.

I have a feeling that we'll score at least three goals in this game.

Schmeichels son is totally crap it's a miracle that he hasn't conceded a goal in the first two games, I expect us to break this trend.

I think it will be an easy victory. We've played well, but not put the ball in the net. Tevez now has a game under his belt after a long layoff.

I also think Fletcher will start. Fergie will want someone hungry to play on the pitch.

3-0

Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will end his feud with Sir Alex Ferguson by giving him a £415 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon red wine when Manchester United visit Eastlands on Sunday. (Sun)

am sure Fergie would be happy with a bottle that costs £4.15 from tesco's tbh...

That's what I'd go with too. I have a sneaky feeling Fergie will go with O'Shea instead of Fletcher though.

This will be the match where we get back on track I reckon. With Derby games form means nothing and our players will be ready for it whereas a lot of Sven's new signings might not be up for a Derby game yet. So I'm going with a 2-1 win for us, Tevez to open the scoring, Giggs to add one late on and City to grab a consolation near the end

Depends on the tactics for tomorrow, O’Shea is a much more calming influence on the team, Fletcher brings a lot of energy, plus they can both pop up with an important goal.
I think Fletch is going to get the nod as it will be quite a frantic game.

It worries me that O'Shea will start ahead of Fletch in midfield, but that looks like the way were heading.

I think we will keep a clean sheet, the man city players haven't come up against a defence like ours yet and it'll be a big test for their attacking players.

I think we will dominate the middle of the park with Scholes and Carrick and perhaps Fletcher if we play him in that holding role.

Fortunately, I don't think they'll park the bus as they're at home and will be going for a result which should work in our favour as we'll have more room to work the ball with in attack.

I think it'll be a very one-sided game in terms of possession and chances but it just depends on whether or not we can finish the chances we create, which we've failed to do in the last two games.

I'm going for a 0-2 win for us.
