Actually if you noticed this game, none of our players tried to take a long range shot bar Nani, we gotta take more chance on shooting

We would get our self back on top, lets hope we can do it in the next game, we have everything just the clinical finish, and take more shot from outside the box then passing it,

Sometime i got pissed when Scholes passed the ball when he could of taken a shot.

For now we are, but i doubt we would be, Tevez and Nani are not the sort of people who keeps passing, they would do long range shots, and take some chances.

No not Larsson- he did a decent duty for us last season but another year has gone by and playing in the league he's playing in I can't honestly see him back to the form he's shown in previous years (look at Ole )

I'd rather see us sign another striker, one who's about the average height of a footballer... We can't rely on Ole anymore, Saha is too iffy to rely on him to be fit for solid season, Tevez is fine and Rooney is great but together they wont do as much damage as Tevez and Saha or Rooney and Saha. Fergie needs to admit he was a tad off and just buy another striker, Gudjohnsen was practically begging us to buy him a few months back- he's the kind of striker we need. He can link up, finish off, ride the bench when Saha is fully fit, adds a different dimension when he comes off, has been in the EPL for years and his stint at Barca has made him more skillful off the ball, etc. He wouldn't cost nearly as much as the ones some of you are asking for, hmm..

But Eišur's still injured and will not be playing or training for at least a couple of weeks...

Sir Alex Ferguson was left to lament Manchester United's inability in front of goal as Manchester City claimed a derby day victory.

United enjoyed the majority of the match but were hit by a goal against the run of play, from Geovanni, to give Sven Goran Eriksson's side all three points.

The champions were without the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney and Ferguson accepts their finishing was not good enough.

"We had an awful lot of chances and played some fantastic football at times but it just wasn't our day," he told Sky Sports.

"The opportunities we've had and possession, particularly in the last third of the field, and we were just wasteful, that's the nuts and bolts of it.

"I don't think you can even say City were lucky because we had so many opportunities to win it ourselves, so it is our own fault, we haven't won it because of our own disappointments in the last third of the field.

"I'm disappointed with the result, there's no question about that, but I can't fault the performance it was outstanding, we completely dominated the football match."

United have made their worst start to a season since 1992, picking up just two points from their opening three games.

The Red Devils will now look to next Saturday's home game against Tottenham to register the first win of the new season.

"We've given ourselves an uphill fight," Ferguson said.

"Ten years ago we could handle that because we were always good in the second half (of the season), we're going to have to be.

"I think most important is for us to get a win under our belts, the next home match against Tottenham is important to us."

It seems pretty clear to me now. This is our bad spell. We cannot afford to be dropping points like this for the first half of the season. Its time for some consistency.

I'm staying positive, we could do with another striker but I don't think it's a neccescity to be honest.

We are "only" 5 points behind Chelsea. We still got a chance to win the titel, 35 games left.

It may not be bye-bye title, yet. But if we don't straighten this out soon it will be. If Chelsea play like they did 2 years ago, we could be in real trouble already. I figure that to win the title, about 27-29 wins will be needed. That will take a hell of run for the rest of the way. And we've got two more matches without Ronaldo and several more without Rooney.

At the moment I'm pessimistic and angry.

There are some Positives from yesterday

1) Hargreaves was fantastic he broke up everything they only really had the one shot (unfortunately the bastards scored from it).

2) I think we learnt today that its always good to have a striker on the bench Frasier may not have changed the game but at least he was there after last weeks fiasco.

3) It was made very clear for the world to see we need another forward. Maybe now even our american owner will see the benefit of buying one.

4) Apart from our lack of goals and them scoring their only shot we completely dominated them.

5) The next derby at home will be all the more satisfying when we destroy them.

Good luck with that.

But Chelsea will have it this season, especially after this start. Still, there's a heck of a lot of games to go.

Have posted tis in another thread, but now realised it should probably have been posted in here!!

I think we missed Ronaldo yesterday simply because he is a player who can score us goals, as well as create them and at the same time requires two defenders 9 times out of 10 to stop him. Saying that, he is not United, he is just a small part of it. Even when we had him against Portsmouth, we suffered the same frustations as we did yesterday and in the second half against Reading. Ronaldo didn't score then, so why would he have made the difference yesterday. I can't remember the last time we payed so well as a team fo three successive games and came away with nothing more than a point (or less in yestrdays case) I think as a team at the moment we are fantastic. ***-regarding the fact that there are players who are not playing to their potential;

Giggs - That MEN report in the other thread - Nonsense. Hewa substituted against Portsmouth and should have been yesterday, or at leastplayed in his natual position on the left, where he did appear at times but I don't remember many great crosses from him.

Tevez - Not here to slate the guy, he's just short of match finess which SAF said before Tevez as thrown in at the deep end. He just needs one goal!

Nani - Like someone else said,he agai has been thrwn in SAF did not plan on using him so early, he isn't the finished article and I hope that this does not knock his confidence. They eren't geat shots but its his teoshots on target that I remember most from yesterday and his near misses at Fraton Park and OT against Reading.

Evra - Covered at the back well in front of goal missd a good chance again

Rio - Gave he ball away in the middle of the field -For some reason he momentarily lost his confidence on a one to one. Evra was there to clear up.

Brown - He's not Gary Neville, he's doing OK but we need more at the back.

Hargreaves - Played really well - He shold have been there to hel Vidic, but Vidic should have been ou to close down his man quicker. Hargreaves as we all knew wa not even suppoed to be laying yesterday, he's also not 100 match fit.

Carrick - Nothing special as an individual, but then again didn't make many mistakes.

Eagles - Played well when he came on,put in some god crosses, just missedout on the scoresheet, when sliding in on Tevez's near miss toe poke.

Campbell - Did ok, but nothng special, didn't have long enough to prove his worth

Saying all that as a team we were brilliant - Not sure of the final stats but mst of the time we had around 70% posession. Whenwe get a striker BACK (not a new one), Saha, Rooney, Ole, even Andersson (not a striker but another option currently injured. who hopefully can stay fit, then we will be a frightening team.
