When did I say that? Don't be silly. What I'm referring to is his ridiculous pace ..could well cause problems for Evra just like how Lennon did, that's if he plays.

Its hard to call, but the guaranteed starters for this game imo are, Van De Sarr, Brown,Ferdinand,Evra, Scholes, Carrick, Ronaldo, Rooney, leaving 3 others spaces, and assuming we are playing 433 or 451 what ever u wanna call it, the players missing are a defender a midfielder and a winger. I dont think vidic will be fit, nevile is not match fit after one run out and i dont think we can chuck silvestre in, in this high pressure/intensity game. Leaving o'shea and hargreaves as potential right backs or pique as CB, fergie will look for expereince and i see brown moving to centre back and my guess is hargreaves to right back, holds the ball well, puts in great deliveries, good work rate and quick, better option than oshea.

That means the vacant midfield slot is solved, anderson comes in there, then there is the final postion, which will be given to giggs or if nani has returned it will be him who gets the nod, fresh and has performed well against them this season.

Ill go with;

-----------Van der Sarr-----------
Hargreaves - Rio - Brown - Evra
---------Carrick - Scholes--------
-------------Anderson-------------
Ronaldo---------------------Giggs/Nani
--------------Rooney--------------

Ill be very happy with this team, even more confident if nani starts, their shaky defense wont be able to handle the pace, movement and penetration of our front 3, well 4 including anderson who yesterday looked like he was given more of a license to get forward and he did it well. Anyone else agree with this team?

With Nani in that line up, it would be awesome.

Love to have Tevez in that, but he needs a rest after the Roma game. I feel him and Rooney haven't had enough matches after Rooneys injuries to start their sparkling partnership again.

Arsenal have nothing to lose. Expect them to come at us guns blazing (excuse the pun)!

Still with Ronaldo and Rooney and a fit Rio we should be in good shape...promises to be an excellent day of football.

Good lineup, but I'd move Brown into the center and then move Pique to bench, Silvestre to start at the right. He'd be fine at there, especially with the current form he's in after his performance today vs Roma.
Been lurking, mate; I usually prefer reading message boards to posting on them, but I figured it was time to give it another go. Been reading faithfully multiple times a day for years, tho. Thanks for the welcome!

That is right, I can't see the players being up for it tbh, for the first time in a long time I really think we are there for the taking. Our key players are physically shattered as well as mentally shattered. 2-3 months ago I would of fancied our chances here but I don't right now.

Long time no see Mr Spooney, self imposed exile or on holiday?

Arsenal dealt a blow as Flamini is ruled out for three weeks

From the Daily Mail

Mathieu Flamini will miss Arsenal's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday because of an ankle problem.

This is the perfect time to play Arsenal, I´m not saying it will be an easy game but I´m quietly confident, the chance is there and we have to take it.

I think an early goal would be the best thing we could do, they´ll probably be fired up at the start but judging from the way things have gone for them over the recent weeks, also from the fact that they played a tough game against Liverpool while we could rest players against Roma, I think an early goal would be a huge blow to their confidence.

I think Scholes will have a huge game. Just a funny feeling I have that young Fabregas will be taught a lesson in midfield play by the maestro

without wishing to jinx the outcome, that's exactly what I think. But we'll still need to be on out guard. They'll have a go but confidence will be brittle to say the leeast if things go against them.

I say we pressure them from the start. Keep pounding away until the Arse yields. It will be tight, but hopefully we will slip one in via Brown.

I think if we win this game we will be given a huge confidence boost, and i think it will demoralize chelsea, because then they will know that even if they did beat us at the bridge they still have to get all the way to that point still winning every match, and even if they beat us we would still be ahead. I have a feeling they will slip up if we can beat arsenal sunday, and i trust fergie to pick the right side to win the game.

I don't like it. We're going to lose this game, and Chelsea will win the title from here. Arsenal at home makes me shudder.

0-3.

You're pathetic if you think Arsenal will win with 0-3 at OT.

I have had a feeling since the Boro game that if there is going to be a sting in the tail of this season, it will come in the next three games - Arsenal, Blackburn or Chelsea. We really need 7 points from those three fixtures as a minimum. If we beat Chelsea than it is as good as ours.

Arsenal will not be the walkover many are expected though. I have a feeling they could play some liberated, pressure free football. The Liverpool match uncovered some of Wenger's selection and tactical shortcomings - playing Toure right back and Senderos centre back - and he will rectify them by the time Sunday comes. Put simply, we will be facing a stronger and better balanced Arsenal team on Sunday and I think Walcott will start. Nervy, nervy times.

Rio Fit, Vidic on the mend

Rio Ferdinand will be fit to face Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, while Nemanja Vidic is on course to return against Blackburn next Saturday.

Ferdinand had to have three stitches in a cut on his right foot at half-time during Wednesday's 1-0 win over Roma. The injury was unrelated to the problem that forced him off against Middlesbrough last week. The good news is that the 29-year-old has suffered no further ill-effects from this latest complaint.

Vidic, Rio's central defensive partner, was forced off in the first half of the first leg against the Italian side in Rome ten days ago. He was given a two-three week recovery prognosis, and looks set to be back in double-quick time.

"Vidic is doing very well," said Sir Alex Ferguson. "He's not available for Sunday, but he should be back for Blackburn."

Nani, who has been suffering with a thigh problem, may struggle to play a part against Arsenal, but he will definitely be available to face Mark Hughes' side at Ewood Park.

Elsewhere, Gary Neville is in contention for the first-team after his cameo appearance on Wednesday. But Sir Alex admits competition for places is tough with "players playing well in defence". He added: "Nevertheless, it's great to have him back."

United's only other injury concerns - Darren Fletcher (knee) and Louis Saha (hamstring) - are doing well in their recovery and will both be back before the end of the season.

Good news about Rio. I hope Nani manages to make it for Arsenal though. We could greatly benefit from his ability.

Nuts, I really wanted us to have Nani playing if Sagna will not be available for Arsenal.

Forget the FAC result - this will be very difficult. A draw is on the cards which will leave Chelsea one point behind. The Blackburn game is then a vital one to win with the hope that Chelsea drop points at Everton. We must be three points clear of them going into the SB game. It would take the pressure off us a little.

Arsenal are a great passing side ("they passed Liverpool off the pitch" - Gerrard's own admission) and so we will have to play a decent midfield. Hargreaves, Carrick and Scholes for me with Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez upfront. Anderson and Giggs on the bench.

VanDer Sar

Brown - Rio - Pique - Evra

Carrick - Hargreaves - Scholes

Ronaldo - Tevez - Rooney

SUBS
PiG - Neville - Anderson - Giggs - Park

Thats what I'd play I think, although leaving Anderson out hurts my feelings as I like watching play, I just think on form those 3 midfielders deserve their place.

Thought Tevez did very well leading the line against Roma and caused them problems, so I think he too should play. Shame for Park but he did look knackered after the game on Wednesday (who wouldn't have, does he ever stop running) so a place on the bench for him.

All in all, looking forward to a good game of football.

We can use Ronaldo on the left and Hargreaves on the right.

We can also use Park if needed. Headache dilemma for Fergie but a good one.
