My viewpoint changes from moment to moment. earlier i was thinking that were going to lose. now i think were going to win.
saf'll probably put park in goal and dong at def mid or somthing nearly as unpredictable, heres my team anyway:

vds

brown ferdinand vidic evra

hargreaves scholes anderson

ronaldo rooney tevez

See simple, a great team with balance. our perfect lineup. but i bet when i see the team on the screen on tuesday ill be shaking my head thinking what the fuck! again.

Though i am inclined to agree it could be crazier and even mroe tense than some have already suggested.

People have looked back to Milan last season but how about the last time we faced major Spanish opposition at such a crucial time in the CL.

A 7 goal thriller, anyone interested?

This time we need nto have a 3-1 defeat on Spanish soil to worry ourselves with.

Great team selection. I hope SAF goes with that. Carrick looks tired.

i think saf will try to put a strong midfield and its going to be 4-5-1 which will become 4-4-2 with ronaldo going forward and hargreaves drifting onto the right. carrick and scholes must play.

I don't see why not.

Instills confidence from our PoV and will make Barca a little more wary into the bargain.

We can move Rooney to wide left if we requrie more solidity at times in the game orwe are getting too carried away.

Im sick of seeing rooney on the left, if anywhere from the front i would rather he drop into a central midfield attack position. running at people.

I must say I'm not at all optimistic about this one, and this is the first time in ages where I don't think we'll get what we want. It's not at all fun having this feeling.

I think we'll be knocked out after a 1-1 or 2-2

I might change my mind after two minutes into the game when I see how we approach the game.

You've got to have somebody covering that flank though, we won't be on the front foot constantly and sometimes it'll jstu be their phase of the game. It is the msot likley place we will see Ronney in such instances.

In my team above youve got evra, anderson and tevez on the left side they are exellent ball winners with great persistance and pace. should be sufficient without rooney filling in at left back etc.

I was expecting that acutally , and you wouldnt' find me opposed to it neither.

However, Sir Alex is likley to go with what he has used in the past, understandably. Rooney does sreve as a good shield, only so long as that is not his primary duty as was the case in Barcelona.

Whether he'd be up to it these days i don't know [probably not], but i do recall a few years ago, how Scholes put in a blinding performance when used on the left against Deportivo, and that was away in Spain too. Depor were at the height of their powers then, they've slipped somewhat since unfortuantely for them.

I just hope SAF doesnt have one of his brainwaves and play a unfathomable team selection like at West Ham / Barca / City. Each one of these occasions something in the selection went against the grain and cost us the win.

What should we do if we're 1-0 up?

A) Sit back and try to defend the lead, conceding means going out.

B) Try to get the second and risk being hit on the counter.

I personally would play Fletcher in this game and give him the task of marking Messi. The rest of our team should be concentrated on attacking the Barca goal.

Midfield and strikers:

Ronaldo-Carrick-Scholes-Nani
----Rooney-----Tevez----

let's play real football this team, attack them, put them under pressure, play it fast and quick, create chance after chance and really try to dominate and not hide and hope we can hit them with a lucky strike

The current bun quotes a "source" from Carringto who says that Rooney is a major doubt for tomorrow's game, with just a 30% chance of being available

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we go with the same line up as last time, except with our first-choice back line restored, Hargreaves added to midfield, Tevez up front, with Ronaldo and Park on the wings.

Not ideal but the addition of Hargreaves to midfield will beef up our midfield considerably and I would still fancy Park, Ronaldo and Tevez to create enough chances for us to win the game.

If we go 1-0 it's absolutely vital that we keep doing what we were doing and don't change anything. Sitting back would be a mistake, commiting too many men forward would also be a mistake.

whats Evra doing on the Left wing? Hes better getting forward from Left Back. Hargreaves--Carrick---Scholes or Fletcher--Scholes--Hargreaves if Carrick is tired. Anderson will be better coming of the bench. Also will Tevez start or come of the bench. He has looked better coming of the bench in Europe.

carrick has started our last 7 games

3 day rest and another game .. too much to ask for

i wouldnt mind him starting , but hargreaves scholes and anderson wouldnt be a bad option

can go 4-4-2 with hargreavs on the right if needed .. or back to a 4-5-1/4-3-3 during the game

I am not very objective to answer that.

But the has no sense for the game whatsoever. He gives yellow cards fro almost everything. There is no way Evra will make it to final if the result goes in our way.
