Giggs was class, defense held up well, midfield was tight (although they were caught out a few times), and VDS was awesome as always.

Some of his crossing and passing was abysmal.

Would like to see Richardson in midfield when we get some defenders back.

Not a bad effort from the lads considering all of the injuries there were. Favourable result in the other group match as well. I agree with the notion that Richardson, despite his good play at left back would be even more of an asset in midfield. Perhaps this is a good omen for the greater inclusion of the young players.

SAF and Queiroz hugging each other when ruuds goal went in showed the pressure both men were under.

They were afraid of the abuse from the united fans if we had not won the match.

Loved the atmosphere, what would Old Trafford be without European nights!

Giggsy for MoM, lead by example. Bardsley deserves special mention.

Did well. His crossing let him down a bit though.

Richardson was great tonight, looked like a defender rather than a attacker covering.

Giggs was amazing, Ronaldo looked like something out of the riverdance, Ruud was great. Scholes was a bit touch and go, good in places, bad in some others but overall not bad. VDS was great, ah good game that.

Scholes looks to be heading to the pressure to play better...but did anyone else notice the he doesn't leave his feet much to fight for the ball.

He needs to stop being so damn flat footed and get hungry for the ball.
Scholes did play his position much better then usuall.

Giggs' talents came through, too.

Thank God for Van der Sar

C. Ronaldo...holy crap...how bout that footwork in min 90

Great instincts from Rio...keep it up and we may forgive you

Bardsley.....strong player, great run up the right to up RVN's goal

Smith....coming along in the middle.

Fletcher.....didn't like how he had the ball taken off him in the first half...nearly resulting in a goal.

I agree with that too, put richardson in midfield where fletcher plays and you would see more attacking flair from the middle, he has the energy and legs to cover back also, cant be worse than fletcher in defending either!!.
