Hopefully we'll look more dangerous in the final third in this match, and build on the positives from tonight. Lets hope that we'll get a few players back from injury aswell, and we should be firm favorites.

Don't know if Scholes and Giggs will be able to start another game. Any chance Cleverley or Jones will be back for this?

Now there's a game that De Gea should DEFINITELY not start in.

What positives? That with a 3 man midfield with 2 of the best passers in the Premier League we can control possession? That should have been known.

Anyway this thread is about stoke. I hope we give them a good pounding to get over today.

Rafael back and playing very well, Valencia still on top of his form, Smalling looking good at the back, Scholes looking sharper then earlier, Welbeck looking good, Carrick still going strong, being able to play at Anfield and actually controll a game.

We're playing an entire season, not just a single match. These things obviously matter going into a new game only a few days away which is why we should look on the positives on tonights game and be positive about the game on Tuesday.

if we get a number of players back, we should be fine.

Its all about injuries atm.

today we should have dispatched that Liverpool side....if only.

Rafael back is a godsend, can you imagine if he wasn't?

Can anyone rule out players from the following list:

Quote:
PREDICTED FORTHCOMING MATCHDAY SQUAD: (vs Liverpool (A), 28/01/12)
David de Gea, Anders Lindegaard, Ben Amos
Patrice Evra, Phil Jones, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling, Fabio Da Silva, Rafael Da Silva, Ezekiel Fryers
Oliveira Anderson, Ryan Giggs, Ji-Sung Park, Michael Carrick, Luis Nani, Paul Scholes, Tom Cleverley, Antonio Valencia, Paul Pogba
Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck
I'm sick and tired of not knowing who the hell is available.

we have been a lot more fluid though. its injuries simple. Valencia and Rafael on the right have been a joy.

I saw that post in the Liverpool thread and my response was

Where are you getting that false info from?
People obviously don't do any homework, I haven't got any inside information but a little bit of google punching and basic common sense told me those players would all miss out.

"That info" is from the stickied "Injuries and Suspensions" thread in the Manchester United forum: Injuries/Suspensions - 2011/2012

Some players are always going to be "Fergie injured" but there really does seem to be a real lack of information about when players are suspected to be back. Ferdinand was on the bench today so your information was wrong.

I've just updated that thread with new information. It's very hard to know for sure when Fergie gives no information at all in his pre-match press conference and so a lot of what goes on in that thread is guesswork or relying on the initial prognosis given by the manager when he first clarifies a player and their injury.

Yeah you always have to consider the "Fergie injured" but we all saw Nani, Jones and Rooney limp off at Arsenal.

And with Rio? are you kidding? he was there to make up the numbers, if he was even 75% fit, he'd have started.

Berbatov in for for Scholes and maybe Hernandez in for Welbeck. Not sure if we have anyone to come in for Giggs in midfield unless we put Park there and move Danny to the left.

Rio on course for Stoke return

Rio Ferdinand could be back in action for the Reds in Tuesday's Barclays Premier League clash against Stoke City.

The defender missed last weekend's win at Arsenal after a back problem flared up.

He was on the bench for the FA Cup defeat to Liverpool and Sir Alex hopes he will feature at Old Trafford against the Potters.

"Rio only had one real training session on Friday and we couldn't gamble with only that preparion behind him [for the FA Cup clash], " the boss told MUTV.

"He'll train tomorrow and on Monday and could be ready for Tuesday."

Sir Alex also reportedly told ITV1 before the Anfield cup tie that Wayne Rooney and Nani could be available for next Sunday's league trip to Chelsea, but Phil Jones is likely to be out for a little while longer.

Anyone other than Rio back for this game then? God knows what our midfield will look like as it could be a bit much for Scholes/Giggs with Chelsea at the weekend.

I don't blame you mate, I blame Fergie! His Fergie injuries are all right when suddenly Rooney or Rio are suddenly fir to play against Arsenal but its another story when we can't get decent information about players.

Hang on, I thought we played Stoke today? You know, all 11-man defence, lanky shite strikers, set pieces and long balls...

It's going to be a physical battle so not a game to bring the recovering injured back into. However, it's a must win with our fixture list so I think it's a case of playing as strong a side as possible. I suspect it'll be too soon for Giggs and Scholes again though?

Oh for fuck sake!

I'm watching more City than Utd these days, although I do have a bit of a soft spot for Everton.
