Need to win this and hope we play like we need to. When we get into the comfort zone like the other day, we don't create enough chances - we may keep the ball and dominate in that respect but, don't do enough to put the game to bed.
Hopefully Fergie will have drummed that in some more - he already wasn't too pleased with it on Sunday. |

Sean's team to beat Wigan Athletic
![]() Starting XI ![]() Bench: Amos, Smalling, Jones, Scholes, Nani, Berbatov, Chicharito Not in the squad: Giggs, Park, Fabio, Pogba, Fryers, W.Keane Out: Vidic, Fletcher, Anderson, Owen, Lindegaard Some words to the team-selection I would make only one change for this game, the players shouldn't have a problem with one game during the week at this stage and more changes are a better option from this game to the Aston Villa game. Cleverley for Scholes would be my only option because Scholes isn't probably ready for another 60+ minutes and Cleverley is the nearest option for Scholes. Player to watch: Wayne Rooney I've a bad feeling about this game but i've a feeling Rooney will save us for a draw or win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Match Stats - Head-to-head total: 0-0-14 -.Head-to-head @JJB Stadium: 0-0-6 - Wigan Athletic's current form: LDDWWL ..Manchester United's current form: WLWWWW - Manchester United haven won all 14 games against Wigan Athletic and the goal-difference says 46-4, Wigan Athletic are goaless against Manchester United in the ..last 5 games too. - 3 Manchester United defenders (Patrice Evra, Rafael and Fabio) have scored in the last 4 games against Wigan Athletic. - Manchester United have won their last 8 league games and 11 of their last 12. - Manchester United have failed to score in only 1 of their last 52 games, a 3-0 defeat against Newcastle United. - Wayne Rooney has scored 12 goals in his last 11 games. - Javier Hernandez has scored 3 goals in 3 games against Wigan Athletic. - David De Gea hasn't conceded a league goal in the last 453 minutes. Tight game I think tonight, Wigan don't have a great home record but they're in good form (only 2 losses in the last 9). They struggle to finish off chances though, I feel if we get an early goal we could have them beat mentally, their record agianst us will be in their minds. We should scrape through tonight though.

A lot of people predicting an easy win here but I just don't see it. Wigan have actually been playing very well of late and should've gotten something at Stamford Bridge at the weekend. There are no easy games at this point of the season, although the confidence we carry into the game is undoubtedly the biggest factor.
ALL that matters here is 3 points. I would expect to see some but not too much rotation. Cleverley, Nani, Giggs, Jones and Smalling will all be in contention for starts. As will Hernandez. The little mexican hasn't impressed me in a long time and to be honest I'd be much happier to see Berbatov get a game if Welbeck is rotated out. Regardless of individual preferences, Fergie will not be taking Wigan for granted. They are fighting for their life and having their typical late season surge. I don't expect this to be easy at all. Not having champions league or FA cup commitments means we shouldn't have to rotate as much as in previous seasons. |

Am looking forward to the game with our brilliant away support as always at Wigan and the other night at Blackburn
![]() I can see Rio and Scholes given a little break, Smalling and Giggs to come in. Get the first goal and i reckon we'll win pretty comfortably |

I hope we don't rest Rio. His experience has been vital the past few months, the partnership with Evans is working and I think De Gea is more confident knowing he has Rio at CB to provide some communication when defending set-pieces.
Hernandez may get a start, if Scholes is rested then I'd prefer if we started Cleverley and Carrick in CM with Giggs coming on if necessary. Hope to see Nani get a subs appearance. |

We're gonna lose tonight.
There's no way we're gonna just cruise through this run in and not at least make it difficult for ourselves at some point. Its just not how United do it. We always do it the hard way. |
