Aus v India Test series

Let's have it. Should be a good series. Good to see the tri-series is back after it as well

I'm looking forward to the series big time, but the excitement's tempered a bit by the fact that Zaheer Khan's probably going to be injured(how on earth will he last 4 matches?), Ishant looks to be carrying a niggle which means by the 3rd test at best we'll be lining up with Abhimanyu Mithun and Vinay Kumar as 2 of our three seamers..

For the English people who haven't seen those two, this is a bit like turning up for a test series with Paul Collingwood and Luke Wright as your quicks.

India's batsman will love this tour (3 of the 4 pitches are deadset roads)

I hope he does because I'm sick of the hype around it. It's affecting his performances.

Why did he retire on 92 in the warm-up match? Could've gotten to the 100 just to clear off the tension of getting a hundred.

True, would have made more sense to retire at 100

Cowan really is playing a test match innings - 14 runs in the morning session! To be fair he must be nervous as it is his daybooo.

I think India will be the happier team at this point.

Disgraceful umpiring, the non use of the DRS is a complete joke, fuck the BCCI

I agree, it's baffling the lack of DRS. However one decision went Aussies way too regarding Haddin, Hussey's out was an idiotic one.

Had Hussey and Cowan's dismissals been correctly adjudged/referred, Haddin's plumb lbw may never have happened...

Are the BCCI against HotSpot as well?

Hussey had a definitve sound though, the hot spot isn't conclusive always. Was there anything on snicko?

BCCI have been retarded in their refusal to use DRS, the hotspot got things wrong against England so they've declined to use it.

Snicko had nothing. I heard no sound for hussey.

I heard something for Cowan, and snicko had a very small tickle as the ball went by the bat, but the tickle in the snicko graph was so small it could have been anything.

Apologies I got Hussey and Cowan mixed up. Hussey was not out, Cowan I don't think was a bad decision at all.

KM - agreed.

Hussey decision was terrible (though understandable as the ball moved as it passed hussey) and would have been overturned by DRS, on first replay with Cowan, I heard a noise as the ball passed the bat... but hotspot didn't show anything and snicko had a tiny disturbance (but not the usual pattern you'd see if it was off bat). However, it was close enough and overturning that decision wasn't really what DRS was for anyway.

Bit of a shame that instead of talking about Cricket, we're talking about non-cricketing factors in this match.

Thought Ishant Sharma was unlucky, Yadav was very good and Dhoni's tactics after the sixth wicket were a disgrace.

Its a pity Sehwag could not make use of his dropped chances to make a big score. Well that has bought the LEGEND to the crease. Lets see what he can do.

Because both of them are different things. I know no DRS is a bullshit thing, but let's give it a rest when it's not even related to what's happening out there.

Btw loved Tendulkar's innings here, he looks so much better when not playing defensive cricket.

India have potentially had their arses saved by a stupid rule. If you take away technology, you take away ALL technology.

re: siddle NB

I can see marchi's point about inconsistency, but really it's the Australian bowling coach's fault. Have you noticed that Aussie bowlers are always right on the limit of the crease whenever they bowl, yet all opposition bowlers usually have a good half a foot behind the crease? I seriously doubt the extra 15cm would have a tangible impact on the chances of getting a wicket...
