Calzaghe should retire

He's not as good a boxer as he was a couple of years ago. There's no great names to fight. He's loaded.

What's the point carrying on?

One last big fight at the Millennium Stadium, in front of the home crowd. I think he wants to bow out there and I think that's fair enough.

Not sure about the quality of the fight though, Jones Jr is past his best and I don't know what weight Pavlik would fight at.

Quite right too. He's a young hungry fighter with a good finishing punch. As I say, he'd be in a new weight division and you can't tell how his body would react to that.

It's got Jones Jnr in Cardiff at Ligt Heavyweight written all over it really. He'd win that, probably on points and ride off into the sun.

One last fight for the man I think. Pavlik would finish him I reckon. It's got to be Roy Jones Jr and I think he has a good chance against him. Jones lost 3 out of his last 6 fights and it's only been one fight a year for a long time with him.

If Calzaghe wins he has to retire!

He has been chasing the Roy Jones Jnr fight for most of his career. He wont be able to resist it even though Jones is over the hill.

Jones lost 4 on the trot. Clearly not the fighter he once was. Calzaghe would probably knock him out. I'd like him to fight Pavlik, doubt it'll happen miod. The Jones bout is a potential money spinner, which is why it'll probably happen.

that's a shame. who would pay to see Roy Jones Jr. fight again? he's so past it, it isnt even funny.

better money fight would be Felix Trinidad. I'd pay to watch that, even if Tito is a bit old.

For the money he should fight Jones, for respect he should fight Tarver and win a belt at light heavyweight.
Pavlik is a outside possibility and although he is a big puncher he is a middleweight. Lacey is a bigger puncher and could not knock Calzaghe out or down so i don't think he is too worried about facing a puncher like Pavlik. Plus the Pavlik has just established himself as the best middleweight so i can only see him moving up division so soon.

Another option is Jermain Taylor, he will be looking for a change and will probably be moving up too super middleweight very soon.
I would like to see him unifi the super middle weight division and claim the IBF belt from Bute, then fight Tarver (in the states) for whatever belt he has and then finish off with an mega fight with Jones.
If he gets through those, then retire and gone down as one of the best ever.

Like Jeff Lacy did? Kessler is quite similar in style to Pavlik but seems to have a better chin and Calzaghe figured him out and hurt him badly. No reason why he couldn't do the same to Pavlik.

Calzaghe should get his money fight against Jones and retire. He has nothing else to prove.
