Massive controversy at England vs New Zealand ODI.
Collingwood's position as Captain will come under threat for this.
He should've let it slide, and furthermore was he taken out intentionally? It is certainly being claimed so. This is from the BBC live text page >> Quote:

Whether he was or he wasn't, Collingwood showed no class at all. I don;t like this 'win at all cost' bullshit. That's definitely not cricket.

Would we have wanted to win like that? Collingwood should come out and apolgise pretty sharpish once the game is over. |

Reminds me of when Pollock knocked in to Pietersen in the 20/20 world cup, I still believe that was intentional. Haven't seen this incident though, why is it Collingwood who is taking all the blame? I know he's captain and all, but anything specific?

It shouldnt have been out. Simple.
However I dont blame Collingwood, I cant see how he has to make the decision whether to give him out or not!!! The umpire should have stepped in, said 'not out' instead of bottling it. |

By the laws of the game it was out. However, it was against the spirit of cricket. Benson asked Collingwood to withdraw his appeal, but he didn't. And captains have the power to recall batsmen who have been given out. . . so he had enough to time to make the right decision.
