Both times while watching the plays unfold I could tell the Browns left somebody open and that Smith could see him but I lost my shit the first time when I realized it was Staley and lost my shit the second time when I realized they had the balls to do it again with Sopoaga. I was a little disappointed Sopoaga stepped out of bounds instead of barreling into the nearest defender though. |

If there was never a cap in the NFL, the Cowboys, Redskins, Raiders, 49ers, and a few of the big market spending clubs (Giants, Jets, Patriots) would have dominated. Clubs like Tennessee, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis would have struggled to compete. Green Bay would not have survived.

Nah, they wouldn't have been able to compete in today's era. You're completely missing the fact GB didn't do squat from 1968-1992. And by the 90s the million dollar salaries were becoming a trend. That club could not have survived without revenue sharing and a salary cap. Leave off the rose-tinted specs.

Yep noticed that myself.....they were building up to it at about half one on ESPN America. Did anybody notice the size of the one faculty building in the background? It was like Newman, Quinn, Ag and Science (Up in UCD) all rolled into one, it was massive.

Some of the college facilities over there (and not just for academia) are unreal.
If I'm not going out tonight I might give this game a watch. |

It's the first #1 vs #2 game in the regular season for half a decade and is being billed as one of, if not the biggest college football game ever for several reasons.
The two most prominent, well known coaches in college football in Nick Saban and Les Miles. Saban is the head coach of Alabama, and he used to be head coach of LSU. Both teams are riddled with NFL prospects, with two big Heisman candidates in Trent Richardson and Tyrann Mathieu (who has the coolest nickname ever - The Honey Badger). Far and away the two best teams in the country, with possibly the 2 best defences college football has ever seen. Huge, fierce rivals. The SEC has long been considered the best division in college football, and these two teams have split it. It consists of Alabama, LSU, and the rest. They're so far ahead of everyone else. College football is religion in Alabama and Louisiana, and the South in general. This is basically the unofficial National Championship Game. |

He's a cracking prospect, and based on talent he probably would be top 15. Only thing is I don't see anyone picking in the top 15 that needs an outside pass rusher as their biggest need (just in my opinion anyway). He'll probably end up around the 20-25 mark and some playoff contender will get themselves an absolute steal with him.

One of the most boring, uninspiring college football games I've watched. What a shower of shit on offense. Yes the defenses are great but it's also helped by inefficient offenses that appear to run outdated systems. The Alabama kicker should be dropped from the squad immediately. Mark my words, Trent Richardson will be a better NFL player than Mark Ingram.

Ohh Welker down for the Pats, hopefully he's alright. Meanwhile the Chargers are making a good fight of it against the Packers, right now Rodgers has rushed more yards than he's passed.

What's up with the Pats offense, it's getting worse by the week. At least the D got an interception in the end-zone to keep it a 1 score game.
Rodgers has been brilliant again, that pass at the end of the first half for the TD was brilliant (excellent catch as well). |

Wow, the Packers vs. Chargers game of the season so far. Shame Rivers couldn't deliver at the end but a nice comeback nevertheless.
Rodgers is on a different level right now. Consistency defined. |

If Brady ever gets in the position he was in last night again, he's gonna have to possibly try slow the drive down a bit so his defence have less time to mess up. It was like the SB all over again
