Difficult fight to score. I'd have had it a draw - 3 rounds to 2 in favour of Rampage, but Forrest had to get a 10-8 round for the ass kicking he dished out in Round 2.
I love the light heavyweight division. Some great fighters but all of them have shown themselves to be beatable, Machida apart. Who if anyone do you all think will beat Machida? |

i stayed out of this thread until i saw the fight..
wow.. good fight! i thought it was closer than the judges did, but after the fight and before the decision was announced i expected forrest to win but wouldn't have been suprised if rampage did. it was sooo close to call, but i think forrest got it because he was dictating the fight... he was carrying out his plan where rampage wasn't... obviously rampage underestimated him and was suprised early on.... he did well to come back into the fight and if it had continued i think he'd have ended up knocking forrest out. |

It was probably given because as you said Forrest dictated the pace. But Rampage should have finished him off as he did catch him with numberous shots. I was suprised at him not being clinical. |

I agree. Dana will jump at the chance to put Chuck in against Forrest, because its a very winnable fight for him and a massive fight in terms of fan interest. If he gets past Evans then I personally have no problem with Chuck getting a shot, although Machida probably desrves one first.

Forrest deserved the win, just because of his heart, that guy makes the whole difference as no one has heart just like Forrest does.
I bet the bookies was laughing at all them rampage punters, hahaha! |

definately thought forest deserved it, his leg kicks and take downs made the biggest difference, but was very surprised by Rampages interview, humble and very classy! If he gets his re-match he should focus on his ground game that is what is stopping him reaching his full potential.

Surprised noone mentioned the Christ Lytle gorefest.
I was trying introduce a friend to the subtle art of UFC and assured him that it was much less brutal than people think, with lots of technical skills on display and very few nasty injuries. Next thing I know, it's a fecking blood-bath ![]() Luckily the Forrest-Rampage had him gripped from start to finish and won the sport a new convert ![]() |

Although it's not the UFC, the Affliction:Banned PPV on July 19th will be the best showcase of Heavyweight fighters ever.
Fedor vs Tim Sylvia Andrei Arlovski vs Ben Rothwell Josh Barnett vs Pedro Rizzo Alex Emelianenko vs Paul Buentello Matt Lindland vs Fabio Negao Babalu vs Mike Whitehead Lil N og vs Vernon White Vitor vs Terry Martin Check out the site: http://www.afflictionclothing.com/banned_july19/ Possibly the best MMA card ever. |

Oh, forgot. The name "Banned" came about after the UFC banned all its fighters from wearing Affliction clothing because they began to plan their own fight promotion.

Griffin didn't do jack shit once Rampage buckled from the leg kick. He employed the tried and true Randy Couture style of lay and pray. Lay on someone, on the ground or against the cage and do JUST enough to keep them from being separated or stood up. Personally I don't know who won. I had it. Round 1, Page 10-9. Round 2, Forrest 10-9. Round 3, 4 and 5 are totally subjective and based on what the individual judges thought was more important. Rampage did more damage in the rounds, Forrest came forward and threw/landed more shots. The actual scoring however was terrible. I shouldn't say nobody beats Machida but frankly I don't think anyone will short of a shocking upset. I'm of two minds for Machida versus Forrest, either Forrest will be able to just hang in there until the later rounds and start to get to Machida when Forrests massive size advantage starts to wear him out, or Machida makes Forrest look like the uncoordinated nonathletic, slow troll that he is and picks him apart in winning a 5 round unanimous decision. The truth however is that this fight will probably not happen. Machida won't be given a title shot next or likely even his fight after his next fight. Forrest will probably end up fighting Chuck next, who he will decision or submit. After that will probably be the Rampage rematch and I expect him to get knocked the fuck out. |
