Participation in Afghanistan and Libya. Mulla Krekar. And the Danish cartoons, but I doubt that's a main factor.

To me it seems most likely that these will be Norweigian Muslims who have basically idealised the concept of terrorism.

I guess there will be no specific reason just a kind of imitation. Of course those things you've listed Laphroaig is what these people will use as a (tenuous) justification.

I just hope this doesn't gravitate Europe even further right. (and by that I mean Norway specifically move right)

Looks to be an organised terrorist attack against our political leadership at the moment. A man dressed as a police officer has now been shooting people at Arbeidpartiets youth camp as well.

Fucking furious at the moment. Hope all known ones are well. I am luckily not in Oslo atm, but I live about three hundred meters from the blast area.

Yes. We have a coalition government consisting of three parties, but Labour is the biggest and most powerful by far. The prime minister and foreign minister are Labour.

Further shots fired at the camp a few minutes ago. It's still going on, it seems. He's in a police uniform, but no idea whether he's police, I guess not.

Several people dead inside the government offices.

Reports of at least 3-5 people wounded in the shootings and paramedics can't reach the area as the shooter is still active. There are probably casualties at Utøya as well as in Oslo.

All the news reports are reporting that everyone being phoned up at Utoeya has just hung up immediately or told the callers that they can`t talk cause they are hiding.

The man dressed out as a cop told the people there that he was performing a routine investigation in the aftermath of the bomb attack.

Obviously this is a planned attack from someone with some resources.

This is what I'm fearing as well. After Afghanistan and Libya we should perhaps have expected something like this. I just didn't think they would attack us, of all countries.

The worst possible outcome of all of this is if the more nationalist/xenophobic parties (well, one, really) gain ground over this. Who knows where that could lead.
