That video has a ridiculous tone. Can anyone try and say 'Muslim' in a scarier voice than that?

But anyway, it bases forecasts on the assumption that all children maintain the religion of their parents. That is not necessarily going to be the case.

And I suspect the Islam we will see in 20-50 years will be very different to the one of today. It will probably reform.

Looks like the type of shite that the BNP spend their time pushing. There is no doubt that the Muslim population of Western Europe is growing faster than the non-Muslim population, but that video is nothing more than racist tripe that cannot be taken seriously.

I suspect that some of the more authoritarian aspects will be toned down over time and mainstream Islam will come to embrace some of the more liberal facets of Western culture.

I'm guessing that Islam will become watered down to some degree, much like we see with most Christians in Britain. With relative economic prosperity the need for god seems to fade slightly. Or maybe it will become franchised and marketed like has happened to religion in the United States. Either way I think it will likely become less of a unified force. I find it hard to imagine young people in 20 years time living in relative comfort, surrounded by the fruits of a technological and scientific age, yet still thinking it necessary to find time to pray five times a day.

I also am confident of winning a war of ideas if we have to.

All speculation of course.

Western culture is different and that is hard to reverse. More women staying single, fewer couples marrying and having children. FFS even the Catholics have been letting the side down for the last few decades.

The video is fairly accurate, its just basic maths but there isn't a whole lot we can do about it.

I think it's a Christian video, presumably based on the pretence that a Christian's mission is to maximise the number of people believing in the 'right' god. Therefore they see it as a worry that Islam is becoming more successful.

Obviously it's all a nonsense, but I think that's what they're thinking anyway. Who knows.

And as expected a load of bullshit statistics - 23 million Muslims in Russia, funny enough that would be reduced to almost nothing if the Chechens, Tajiks and Dagestanis would be granted their independence. And I dont see any Chechens joining the Russian army anytime soon

The United states - the country itself is formed on immigration, so what problem does this video have with having 9 million muslims (out of 200 million Americans). And what about the American Indian culture? that went down the shithole.

Most laughable was the conclusive "we must act now" statement. The creator of this video either has no fucking clue (dont see how its Islam's fault that the 'normal' Europeans are not producing enough kids) OR he's simply inciting genocide or calling for another crusade.

Unfortunately this sort of bollocks detracts from what is an important message; that the world is overpopulated and that all nations should be looking at ways to limit their population rise so that humanity can live in a sustainable manner.

These dipsticks are transforming genuine concerns about dangerous high birth-rates into an attack on people's religion. We need the religions to take a positive lead on this subject, not be antagonised.

There is an independent country called Tajikistan. And what Dagestanis are you refering to? There is no ethnic group that calls itself Dagestani. In Dagestan there are Avars, Dargins, Lezgins, Kumyks and lots of other ethnic groups and a very clear majority of these people are loyal to the Russian state. The Chechen fight for independence is basically dead now.

A couple of Chechen battalions fought for Russia in the war in Georgia in August.

Yes I know there is an independent Tajikstan, but theres a great deal of Tajiks in the Russian mainland, and they're Muslim. All those ethnicities within Dagestan are also mostly Muslim. Its hardly an immigration issue then is it.

These Chechen batallions you're going on about are obviously going to be conscripts; the Chechen war itself technically isnt over either since there are numerous insurgents operating within the area. Only the official Russian counter-terrorist operations have ended there for now, most Chechen Parliamentarians are still seeking full independence.

The video and stats aren't about immigration or racism for that matter. Its about religious demographics. With a significant minority of the Muslim world set on a jihad against the west and Christians the changing demographics are interesting.

The 2.11 birth rate to sustain a culture is a well known statistic, and most western/christian countries are falling well short of that number. There isn't much anyone can do about it apart from hope religious divides weaken with the changing demographics.

I didnt watch the whole thing but I dont think it took into account reverts. Its quite a big thing in London right now esp amongst young people. Happens alot in prisons but also outside. I reverted on campus in Uni and I have a few friends that reverted too

There are about 120k Tajiks in Russia that's a very small amount. It doesn't matter that these people are muslims they are still loyal to Russia. The muslims in Russia are very secularized, that's what 70 years of communism will do to you.

The ethnic Chechen battalions were actually Spetsnaz units(elite troops) under the command of GRU(Russian military intelligence). They are specialized for combat in mountain-forested lands.

There's very little fighting going on in Chechenya these days, it's very sporadic. And in almost all attacks by insurgents the victims are Chechen police officers because it's almost exclusively Chechen police that is responsible for security in the region since Russian security forces have almost completely pulled out by now.

I dont think so, the video continuously emphasised maintaining 'cultures', and as far as I know, Christianity is not one, single united culture. Its just another (poorly) veiled attempt at inciting hatred towards Islamic people.

In fact the video would have actually make a lot more sense if the narrator just started with the whole "Muslims are terrorists, deport the fuckers etc etc", but has tried to avoid the controversy with this whole 'culture-threatening' bollocks.
