It's about proselytizing. From the youtube page, these words from the video's uploader:
Quote:
"Islam will overwhelm Christendom unless Christians recognize the demographic realities, begin reproducing again, and share the gospel with Muslims. "

From the video itself, last bit of voiceover:
Quote:
"As believers we call upon you to share the gospel message with the changing world. This is a call to action."

Such attitudes betray a subliminal, underlying belief that these foreign chappies are, actually, inferior or at best a little strange, but it's bad form to draw attention to the fact, don't you know? It is this mindset which is truly racist.

If I consider the tenets and cultural action of Islam to be, on balance, pernicious and a force for ill in the world, I can nowadays be labelled racist, and possibly arraigned on various charges as a result. But is the ludicrous 'Cat Stevens' not of the same ethnicity as myself, as a caucasian? If so, why am I thought of as racist when I criticise his religion?

Modern mores are in many respects essentially puerile, and what passes for informed debate merely the parroting of ignorance.

I agree with much of what you are saying here. Just so you know, I don't consider criticism, disapproval or even hatred of a certain religion to be racist. Like you, I feel people should be allowed to dislike whichever religions they please without being branded a racist. However, I feel the video had nothing to do with the religion of Islam. Although they didn't actually mention ethnicity, I think it's pretty clear what they are getting at.

I'm guessing that Islam will become watered down to some degree, much like we see with most Christians in Britain. With relative economic prosperity the need for god seems to fade slightly. Or maybe it will become franchised and marketed like has happened to religion in the United States. Either way I think it will likely become less of a unified force. I find it hard to imagine young people in 20 years time living in relative comfort, surrounded by the fruits of a technological and scientific age, yet still thinking it necessary to find time to pray five times a day.
This is really spot on.
I guess it's simple maths that Muslims are increasing more than Christians are. Thing is that as generations pass Muslims will be not the scary lot someone wants us to believe they are. The vast majority of them will be secular 'Europe-ized' Muslims and the world will spin more or less as it does now.
