Sunday World (NI) publish hanging man on front page

Seen this this morning at work. Just disgusting. Article was about a pretty shocking police fuck up (they left him hanging for 3 hours in full view of traffic), but to publish him hanging there lifeless on the front page to a huge audience (anybody who goes into a shop on a Sunday) was despicable imo.

This thread is useless without a pic.

I did a brief search but could not find anything. I'm not that fussed, just wanted to get an idea.

As for the issue of the picture being published, I don't have a problem with that sort of thing if they think it helps get the message of the seriousness of the police fuck up across. But saying that, I would only agree with such a move if the family was to give permission.

It's a photo taken about 50-100 yards back, with a view of the whole bridge, and a car or two driving under. The man himself is clearly visible. The NI edition of the Mirror reported in a very similar tone, but used a photo of bridge after body was removed.

I believe the news interest was that despite the police saying that there were no suspicious circumstances that the body had blood on it and the hands were tied behind the back. Which is odd.

That said I'm not commenting on the decision to publish.

Havent seen the photo, but i read that his feet were touching the ground and his face and torso were smeered with blood, hands behind his back. If true, thats not suicide.

I seen it too, very distasteful. What were they thinking, its the most utterly hypocritical thing they could have done.
