Can't. It's the advertising revenue that they bring in that keeps this site alive.

Yes, but it does suck when the site is flooded with people and someone who's posted 40,000 times is prevented from seeing the forum just as often as some person who's never even been here before.

I admit, it's annoying, but if it's that or this site goes down then I'll put up with it. Don't like it? Donate two hundred quid to Niall then, then he won't need the advertising.
i highly doubt anyone of those guests would click the ad's

It's not about clicking the ads, the more people that come on to the site the more people will see the ads (theoretically) and therefore Niall gets more money. Simple business really.

There's no need for it, it's not like you can actually have a conversation on there. People who can't watch the game for whatever reason should catch up on the live scores on a proper website like BBC or Sky Sports, its much more organised on there as well.

One way to make it better would be not to let the posts in it count for your own user post count. That would slow down the fucking spamming on there. When something happens you get about 10 thick cunts saying the same thing at the same fucking time

I don't think they're doing that for their post count, its just that there's so many people on it that everyone gives a running commentary of the game at the same time. Cue mass confusion.

I think you'll find that some of them do it to boost their little redcafe post counts. Because...

A shit load of posts on redcafe = you must know a lot about MUFC.

Matchday forum updates a lot faster than the BBC though.

When I saw that thread title I thought you were talking about OT - then I realised you weren't. Now I think about it - after that 'revenue' quote I guess it's in line with the club !

I'm not sure the owner would turn off guests for match days - it may bring a bit of revenue in or maybe the reason a guest comes back.

I know when I looked at this United forum it stood out for a few particular reasons - one of them being the match day thread - giving the reader updates as quick as you can refresh.

One other alternative could be to limit the number of guest users and once it reaches a set limit then don't allow any more on. If that's even possible at all.

Its not that bad anyway.

Now it's actually returning to it's normal speed, I can click on pages without having to wait 15 seconds or more.
