Yes, but it does suck when the site is flooded with people and someone who's posted 40,000 times is prevented from seeing the forum just as often as some person who's never even been here before.

There's no need for it, it's not like you can actually have a conversation on there. People who can't watch the game for whatever reason should catch up on the live scores on a proper website like BBC or Sky Sports, its much more organised on there as well.

I'm not sure the owner would turn off guests for match days - it may bring a bit of revenue in or maybe the reason a guest comes back.
I know when I looked at this United forum it stood out for a few particular reasons - one of them being the match day thread - giving the reader updates as quick as you can refresh. One other alternative could be to limit the number of guest users and once it reaches a set limit then don't allow any more on. If that's even possible at all. Its not that bad anyway. |
